What’s worked well for me is telling my friends and family to let the phone ring for around 4 or 5 times and then hang up. After that, I use 1471 to check who’s called - that way I can decide whether it’s worth returning the call. For suspicious numbers that keep ringing without stopping, I make a note and look them up online to see what kind of scams or annoyance they’re up to. From what I’ve seen, about 95% of these calls are complete rubbish. Sometimes I wish all these time-wasters would just be shipped off to some distant planet and left there! Jotted down this number after getting a call from someone named "James" on Thursday 23rd July. When I told him I'd already registered with the Telephone Preference Service and don’t want any unsolicited calls, he kept pushing me to finish his survey. He even said if I refused, someone else from his firm would ring me again! That felt quite threatening, being in my own home. After I pushed back for a bit, he said I was wasting his time and just hung up. The company goes by "WAY OF LIFE". Since then, the same number has called me again on Saturday 25th, with "Kevin" ringing on Monday 27th, and then again yesterday, Tuesday 28th. Some calls I just didn't pick up. Looks like I might be getting another one today as well. Really annoying! :(

I’ve had calls from this number 02032872249 several times recently - four yesterday and about three today. Each time, they just cut off without saying anything. I checked online and apparently it’s some sort of survey scam linked to India. Bit suspicious if you ask me.
