This morning at 8:02 my 90 year old dad got a call from a man with an accent, asking to urgently talk to my mum who died 4 years ago. It's so upsetting that these people are allowed to carry on with this kind of thing. Someone really ought to put a stop to it.

Similar to what someone else mentioned, I got called three times within 18 hours after I reported a problem with my phone line. The last person, who sounded Asian, was quite impolite and just hung up as soon as I told them I don’t share personal info on the phone. Isn’t it a bit too coincidental that I received a flurry of scam calls on my landline right after I reported an issue to British Telecom? It’s almost as if there’s some sort of connection between BT's overseas call centres and these dodgy callers! I had shared my mobile number as a backup with a BT online support agent while we sorted out my line problem, and wouldn’t you know it, I was inundated with scam calls about PPI in mere moments! Prior to that, my mobile had been blissfully untouched by such nonsense. Quite the remarkable turn of events, wouldn’t you say?

It's rather amusing, isn't it? Just after reporting a line issue to British Telecom, my home phone starts ringing off the hook with dodgy scam calls! Makes you wonder if some of their foreign call centre staff might just be moonlighting as scammers. Unbelievable! It’s quite the coincidence that I got bombarded with scam phone calls on my landline right after I reported a line issue to British Telecom! It seems a bit suspect that some employees in BT’s overseas call centres and their online chat teams might be in cahoots with these fraudsters. My phone buzzed just before lunch today, around 11am. When I picked up, some guy with an Asian accent asked if I was Mrs ######. I said yes, and he claimed he was doing a consumer survey, then wanted me to give my full name and address plus postcode. I asked why he needed all that info, and suddenly he just called me "such a loser." I told him to "get lost" and quickly ended the call. I've since blocked the number.

At 8.15 I’m busy sorting my dad out to go downstairs, and at 4 I’m just about having my tea. Honestly, no time’s good for anyone trying to scam me, especially from abroad - some bloke from India asking if I’m me but won’t say who he is or what company he’s from, and keeps saying he wants to give me something. Totally dodgy.

A bloke with an Asian accent called asking if I owned the number. I acted a bit dim and said no. Then he asked if they were in, and I said no again. I asked what it was about, and he wondered if it was a business line. I said no once more and just left the phone on the table without putting it down, so he could blabber away and waste his time. When I checked back, the muppet had already hung up!

I got a phone call at my job from this number. A woman said my computer had some serious Windows issues and if I didn’t sort it out, my hard drive would get corrupted. She even said she was from "Windows" which sounded dodgy to me - if it was something real, Microsoft would be the ones calling, right? I told her the PC was a work device managed by our own IT team and then she just ended the call right away. Looks like these lot are mainly after folks using their home PCs who might fall for this kind of trick.

Some Asian bloke called me sayin there was an issue with my computer. When I asked him for the computer's ID, he couldn’t provide it. Totally a scam in my opinion. this bloke threatened me with a knife and said he knew where I lived when I called him out on his scam. I put my call blocker on and the calls stopped, which was a relief. Heads up everyone, the 020319881xx numbers are known to be scam calls pretending to be Microsoft support. They’re just trying to trick you into giving away your private info or getting into your computer. Best thing is to block them straight away. Don’t just count on the do-not-call lists - I use an app from this site on my phone (works great on my Android) that blocks these dodgy calls automatically. It’ll stop all nasty calls and just lets you know one was blocked. Really simple to use!
