I'm fuming right now! My poor old mum rang me all shaken up after getting a call from this number. The lady on the phone spoke English with a soft voice and claimed to be from HMRC. She said if my mum didn’t ring back on a particular number, there'd be severe consequences. It’s just awful what these scammers do, playing on vulnerable people like my mum who was really distressed. Thankfully, she didn’t call the number back because it’s clearly a con. Who do we even report this to? It's got to stop somehow.

Got a call from this number claiming to be HMRC, saying I had to ring back straight away to dodge legal trouble. It was definitely a scam. The automated voice sounded dodgy, plus it was on my work phone where anyone could have picked up, and they didn’t even say my name or anyone else’s. HMRC would never call like that with some robotic message or scare tactics about urgent deadlines. Best to just hang up and forget about it.

Got a call from this number saying they were with HM Government about some tax issues. They told me to ring them back otherwise I'd face court. I've been getting loads of calls from people with foreign accents, always asking for the answer to just one question and then promising not to call me again. Most times I just hang up straight away, but the last time it really got on my nerves, so I told them to quit calling me immediately.

I've been getting calls at my job, sometimes as late as 3 in the morning when the office is totally empty. Typically, it's someone with an Indian accent, either a bloke or a lady, saying I'm missing out on all these chances and that they must offer me some opportunity. Got a call from some bloke claiming he’s with SSE’s metering team, saying they can’t get my meter reading because their satellite’s not picking it up, so I need to give him the meter number. Took a moment and called SSE myself, but apparently they have no clue about any of this. Sounds like a right scam to me - don’t share your meter details as they might switch your energy supply without you knowing. This guy’s rung me up five times already. When I asked for his number to ring back, he just told me to shut up a few times. Proper dodgy.

Lately, I keep getting calls from 0203 numbers, mostly about investments or just plain scams. I ended up putting my landline on Do Not Disturb, so the phone doesn’t ring and annoy me anymore. Even though I can’t hear the call, I still look up the number here to find out who’s trying to reach me. I told my mates and family to just leave a message, and I’ll call back when I can. Total con artist on the line. Some bloke with a clear Asian accent said he was (somename) calling from British Telecom, warning me that my internet would get cut off soon. I hit back saying he was nothing but a dishonest cheat! Then, *poof*, the call just ended abruptly. How do I know it’s a scam? We don’t even use BT for internet. Plus, this feels exactly like the same spiel my 94-year-old mum got on her phone just last week. They’re definitely running the same dodgy script.

I usually don’t pick up calls from numbers I don’t recognise or haven’t saved. If it’s really urgent, they’d probably leave a voicemail, right? So far, none of these random calls have done that, so I guess they weren’t that pressing. Folks who know me well tend to either text or leave a message anyway.

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent saying he was from BT. He said my router was getting hacked and offered to help fix it by walking me through stuff on my PC. I told him I’m not taking advice from strangers on the phone and then he just ended the call.
