Thought it was a London call and answered it, but it sounded like I was the one making the call, so I ended it quickly. Right after, I caught a recorded message starting up, which made me worry it might be one of those big rip-off charges! Definitely not happy about this at all!

Sorry, I messed up - I meant the number 020 3198 8096, not the other one.

Today, we received a call from this number claiming to be the Telephone Preference Service. They were probing for our name and address, but we declined to provide any details, and then they abruptly disconnected the call.

It's so frustrating having to deal with strangers like this, I honestly have no clue what to do with them.

This number calls me quite a bit, sometimes as many as eight times back-to-back in a short period. Luckily I've got BT Call Guardian, so my phone never actually rings, but I can tell they've been trying when I check the call history.

Had a call earlier from someone claiming to be with the Telephone Preference Management Company. They wanted me to give out my credit card expiry date, which I refused to do. Then, just five minutes later, I got another call from a different person. By then I had already looked up the number online and found loads of warnings about it being a scam. I told the second caller not to ring again and they just hung up. Let’s see if they keep their promise.

This number has been ringing incessantly every single day. We’ve refrained from answering, but the tipping point was when they attempted to contact us five times on the 18th of August. We've not yet set up BT Protect to put an end to these bothersome calls.

Received a call from someone claiming to represent the Telephone Preference Service. Shockingly, they had my name and address in front of them. They inquired whether I settled my phone bill via direct debit and then pressed for the expiry date of my debit card. Naturally, I declined to share that info. The chap on the other end, who had a bit of an accent, became rather annoyed when I stood my ground and wouldn’t reveal anything else. I decided to hang up before it escalated.

This number, 02031988105, rang me like 11 times today. Lucky for me, I’ve got one of those new BT phones that block calls automatically, so I only know they tried because I checked my call log. Proper annoying lot, honestly.

I've been receiving calls from this number incessantly, sometimes up to four times a day, even late into the evening. Curiosity got the better of me and I picked up once. The caller, who sounded Asian, asked if I was Mrs Jackson. When I informed him that I wasn't, he requested my address, claiming to be from some telephone barring service. I firmly declined, stating that he had no right to that information. His frustration grew with my resistance, and after I kept insisting, "You need to stop calling my number," he finally hung up the phone. It's becoming rather tiresome!

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent claiming to be from the TPS. She already had my name and address, which was a bit creepy. She mentioned I pay for my phone by direct debit but oddly couldn’t tell me who my provider was when I asked. She just brushed it off like it was no big deal. I just hung up on her.

This guy said he knew we’d signed up with the TPS and reckoned it wasn’t doing its job. When I kept asking if he really was from TPS, he just kept saying "Telephone Preference Management" over and over. He was really pushy. I told him I’d sort any issues online myself, but he insisted the online TPS system has problems. Well, guess what? His call kinda proves he’s not wrong!

Got a call from a bloke with a strong Indian accent, pretending to be from the TPS. He told me my service was out of date. Creepy part was, he already knew my postcode! Then he tried to get me to confirm the expiry month on my old debit card. When I tried to say something, he got really pushy, so I just kept interrupting until he gave up. I told him if my TPS was expired, I'd just renew it online. Told him to drop dead and hope they catch him soon!

Got a call earlier from someone asking for a person who doesn’t live here. I told them no one by that name’s at this number. Then they asked for my name, I only gave my first name and kept my surname private. When they pushed for my address, I just said I was busy and ended the call. Reading these comments now, I’m really glad I did. The guy, who sounded like he had an Indian accent, claimed he was from some government Call Blocking service. My phone’s been buzzing non-stop for the last few days.

They keep ringing me almost every day, like 4 or 5 times! The first time I picked up, they wanted a totally different person to me. When I told em that wasn’t me, they started trying to get my personal info but I didn’t share anythin. Most calls I just let ring out but my little girl has answered a few times and no one said anything. Not picking up again for sure!

I got a call from a lady with an African accent claiming she was from TPS. She kept asking if I was Mr Parfitt living at a certain address and if I was still getting annoying calls. I told her No, it’s not my name, just to see how she’d react. After that, she tried to get my name and address - sounded like she was trying to start fishing for personal or financial info.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent who said she was with the telephone preference service. She used the name of the person who lived here before. When I told her that wasn’t me, she asked for my name to “update the records.” I didn’t want to give it, and she got quite grumpy about that. Then she mentioned something about upgrading my call-blocking service, which just didn’t feel right, so I ended the call and looked the number up online. Turns out, it was dodgy.

Got a random call at 11:19 am from 02031988105 after a couple of international ones asking for a “Mrs Phillips.” The third time, I answered and told them straight away I wasn’t anyone by that name. The caller - sounded Indian, swapping between male and female voices - claimed they were from some call blocking service called Telephone Preference Management. I told them again I’m on the TPS list through BT and wasn’t going to entertain the call any longer. The whole thing felt dodgy so I’ve reported it to the ICO.

I got a call from a guy saying he was from TPS. He asked me some stuff that sounded legit at first, but then he wanted my debit card expiry date! I told him I never shared anything like that when I signed up on the TPS website. He kept insisting it was for direct debit payments through my card. I flat out refused to give any info and ended the call. Honestly, don’t hand over any details to these people, just tell ’em to buzz off.

I got a call from a woman with a foreign accent who said she was helping block unwanted calls. She actually had my name and address, which was a bit unsettling. When she asked for my visa expiry date, I just hung up straight away. Then about ten minutes later, a man with a similar accent rang and asked for the same info. He got quite rude when I told him I didn’t want to share any personal details or speak to him or the woman again. It’s pretty worrying that they seem to have info about previous tenants and are pushing for personal stuff like that.

got a call earlier today from 02031988105, some guy with an indian accent said he was calling from tps and wanted to offer an extension on blocking my phone. he actually knew my name and even got my address right, which freaked me out a bit. then he started asking for my card’s expiry date and got pushy when i wouldn’t give it. i had a bad feeling it was dodgy from the start, so i just cut the call off fast!

Today, I received two calls where they specifically mentioned my name. The callers claimed to be from an organisation named Call Management, and they were supposedly discussing call blocking services. However, whenever I pressed them on their credibility, they abruptly hung up. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

Somebody said they were from a call blocking service, but they had info from like 11 years ago, like the name of the person who owned the phone before me. They then wanted my visa debit card’s expiry date to ‘check’ the direct debit on my phone bill. They sounded really insistent and keep pushing, giving me the number 02036305457 to call if I wanted to set up the phone preference scheme. When I tried calling that number back on my mobile, the call just disconnected straight away.

I keep getting these silent calls too, then the same number rings again but no one talks. From what I’ve read, it’s definitely a scam. They usually call a second time after a silent one, probably the same scammers since they say they 'block' these calls. They try to get your visa expiry info, saying they need it to check if you’re the account holder. Don’t fall for it, never share any of your details!
