I told him that wasnt true and ended the call. then a few nights later, he called again, I said yeah sure, me and my conjoined twin were driving a rental in France, had a terrible smash and got split up, I really miss him. he asked me to wait, i did - he clearly had no idea what a conjoined twin even means. when he got back, he was proper annoyed and said I was wasting his time and if I was having a laugh, I told him welcome to the club and told him to get lost and find a proper job. haven't heard from them since.

I've taken to ignoring my phone for quite some time now-nearly four years, to be precise. I allow all incoming calls to be directed to my voicemail. There are days when the phone starts ringing as early as 8 in the morning and goes on until about 10 at night, with around a dozen calls coming through each day. Given that I'm working from home, I’ve become quite aware of the frequency of these calls. I’ve had to sit down with family and friends to clarify why I don’t pick up, so now they all tend to leave a message instead. It's become exceedingly vexing!

I've reached a point where I simply don’t pick up calls from numbers I don’t recognise anymore. My knees are playing up due to osteoarthritis, so I've given up on the idea of scrambling to check who's ringing. I’m dealing with my own challenges, being disabled, and on top of that, my elderly parents, who are both 84, are not well at all. To make matters worse, my sister is reliant on dialysis. The only way they reach me when they need me is through my home phone since they’re really the only ones who have my number.
