Got a call from someone in India trying to scam me and get my bank details. Honestly, just reporting it here won’t change anything. We need to get our MPs involved and push for some proper laws. Been dealing wiv these scammers for donkeys years now, it’s about time the government got tough and put a stop to it properly.

Had a call on 6/2/2008 at about 9:57 from someone claiming to be with BT, telling me there was an issue with my internet and asked if my computer was on. I said yes, but quickly called them out as a scammer and told them to piss off! They were obviously trying to get into my computer and grab info like bank details, credit card numbers, addresses - all that rubbish. Best thing is just hang up, don't give them anything, and report it as a nuisance call. Proper pain in the neck.

Over the past few days, this number has called me a bunch of times but no one ever says anything when I pick up, so I just hang up. I tried checking it using 1471 and it came back as an unrecognised number. Definitely feels dodgy. Watch out!

Got a call from a young woman saying she was from BT, but the phone number showed it was coming from somewhere in India. She claimed someone was using my internet without permission. I told her I don’t even own a computer, but she just kept going as if she was reading the same lines over and over. Definitely a scam, stay clear!

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent claiming she was from BT, telling me to access my computer. Honestly, don't fall for this rubbish! Trying to ring her back was pointless, number’s dead. Proper dodgy scammers, stay well clear.

This is the third time this number has called me! On this occasion, a bloke with an Asian accent claimed to be John from BT, warning me that my internet would be disconnected for 15 days. I replied, "Right, I’ll inform my husband," and then he just dropped the call! :-) I've blocked the number now.

This number buzzed me thrice in just a couple hours. I've had so many annoying calls before that I usually just ignore any unknown number. Now, I look up who’s calling first and only ring back if it’s someone I know. There were times I even unplugged my phone during the day and only checked it later in the evening.

So, I got a call from someone called Alex claiming to be from BT. When I told him he was lying straight to my face, he looked shocked that I wasn't just going to take it. I even asked him for his credit card info just to see what he'd do - and then, surprise surprise, he ended the call!

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent, she talked quite slowly and wasn’t very clear. She said she was from BT and that my computer was causing problems on their end or something like that. Felt like one of those pointless scams trying to waste my time. She asked me to turn on my PC so she could get access to it, which obviously I didn’t do!

Got a call today from someone claiming to be with BT Openreach, saying my router was having issues. I asked for my account details and name, and he gave me some random name that wasn’t even close to mine. Told him straight up he was a scammer and a liar, and then he started swearing and just hung up on me lol.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with BT, but something about it seemed off. I switched my computer off straight away, and then the caller just dropped the line. I've since reported the incident to both BT and Action Fraud. I’d recommend anyone getting calls like this do the same, just to be safe.

Got a call on my landline from Telford, international number or something like that, on 6th Feb around 15:10. The lady on the line said she was ringing from BT about my internet. Nah, couldn't have been legit. When I asked her name and to spell it out, she just dropped the call. Total scam, I reckon.

Got a call about a Home Lifestyle survey asking stuff like my age, whether I owned my house, my name, and address including postcode, plus details about the make of my washing machine. It was just a handful of questions and they said they'd get back to me but never did. Seems like they were just fishing for an opportunity to sell me insurance or something similar. I threw them off by giving false info and a fake name to screw with their little quiz.

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent claiming she was from BT. She asked if I was online and then said there was some problem with my router, saying they kept getting error alerts. Honestly, it’s a blatant scam and those scammers should be locked up for fraud. This is the eleventh time in just a few weeks I’ve received a call like this. I’m really fed up now and if it carries on, I’ll be reporting them to the police. Absolute scumbags.

Some geezer called me claiming to be from BT, so I played along and said I work for BT too (which I don’t, but they didn’t know that). When he asked what part, I told him Openreach for a laugh. Then he said there was an issue with my router. I found it odd because I’d just set it up and it’s showing 50 megabytes speed. I told him to hold on while I checked online, but he just told me to do one and slammed the phone down. That was proper rude, especially if he was meant to be representing BT!

I got calls from this number about four times today. A guy with an Asian accent said he was calling from BT. When I asked for his contact number, he finally gave me 00441793590933. He then told me to switch on my computer while we were still talking, saying if I didn’t, he’d cancel my BT contract and lock my computer so I couldn’t use it anymore. It’s mad how they keep doing stuff like this - is there any way to actually block these scammers for good?

They keep switching it up, saying they're ringing from the Telephone Preference Service one minute and BT the next. Since when do those two have the same phone number? It’s 100% dodgy. The moment you call them out for being scammers, they just hang up on you. Honestly, what other proof do you need to know they’re not legit?

Got a ring from a young guy with an Indian accent saying he was from BT. I asked him to prove it but he couldn’t give me a clear answer. So I ended the call and looked it up here, and turns out my gut feeling was spot on. Cheers to "Who Called Me" for the help!

Received a call out of the blue from someone saying they were with BT about an issue with my internet. Since I used to have a job at BT, I managed to answer some tricky questions they threw at me. Surprisingly, the caller ended the call quicker than I typically manage to get rid of these calls. Quite a change for once! :)

Got a call from a bloke called Stevie claiming to be from a tech team. Had a really thick Asian accent that was hard to follow. Felt like one of those dodgy Windows scam calls. I barely got a chance to say anything before I just told him to jog on and ended the call without even looking up the number. I reckon someone not paying attention could easily fall for it.

Someone rang claiming to be from the telephone preference service and asked for my debit card expiry dates. I asked which card they meant since I’ve got a couple, and they started acting all weird. Then they put me onto their manager, who got pretty rude and ended up just hanging up when they couldn’t provide any card info. I bet this sort of thing could easily trick older folks into giving their info away.

A guy rang me up, sounded quite dodgy with a thick accent that wasn’t English. He started banging on about how some foreign IPs were trying to get into my computer and said he could fix it. He said he was from BT or something like that. Didn’t buy it for a second and just ended the call.

I got a call from 01952857567 earlier today, with someone claiming they were checking on my Telephone Preference Service status. They then asked for the expiry on my debit card, suggesting I might have a new one. I didn’t give them any info. The guy tried to reassure me, saying he didn’t want the full card number. I told him I never share card details with unexpected callers. After I hung up, he rang me back again.
