I got a call from a guy who sounded Asian. When I told him I wasn’t interested, he got quite rude on the phone. Then he just hung up on me. Later I looked up the number and turns out it was just a scam.

Got a call from a guy who said he was a BT engineer, telling me my internet was messed up. I told him I use TalkTalk and he should check with them, then I just ended the call.

Got a call from this number about someone in my area who’s quite vulnerable. They were saying she owes money and that they’d be dragging her to court over it. When she asked for more info, they just kept threatening with legal stuff but wouldn’t say anything specific. She ended up hanging up, feeling really upset and worried. Honestly, I’d suggest not sharing any info if this number calls you.

This morning around 9:25, someone pretending to be from BT rang me up and said my broadband's got an issue and they'd unplug it for a whole month. I just said thanks and ended the call. I've marked this as risky since it's a landline number, and loads of folks might easily get duped by it.

Got a call from 01952857249, a lady with an Asian accent said she was from BT and asked if she was talking to whoever pays the bills. I told her no, but mentioned my husband would be back around 6.30pm so she could ring then. She quickly said it was urgent, claiming our computer had been hacked and it was a serious problem. I just said no thank you and hung up. Since I don’t even own a computer, it seemed like a dodgy scam trying to trick people. Just a heads up for others to be careful!

I have a strict rule of not engaging with individuals who contact my landline from unfamiliar numbers. As soon as I answer the call, I promptly end it. Lately, I've been getting calls at least twice every day from three distinct numbers, namely 01952857249, 01952857247, and 01964574638. Frankly, it's becoming quite tiresome. It's worth mentioning that I am actually registered on the caller preference scheme.

I got a call from a woman with an Asian accent who said she was from BT. She asked if she was talking to whoever handles the bills. I told her no, but said my husband would be back around 6:30pm and that she could call then. Right away, she said it was something urgent about our computer being hacked and that it was a serious risk. I told her no thanks and hung up. Since I don't even own a computer, it seemed like some kind of scam meant to trick people. Just a heads up to watch out for this.

Just saw this on BBC News today about a scam like this - a woman from a small village in the south of Scotland got swindled out of almost £29,000. It all took place on a Saturday morning last week in xxxx, close to xxxxxx. The caller rang up a 59-year-old lady pretending to be from BT Openreach, saying he was looking into "suspicious activity" on her PC. He then guided her through several steps that ended up giving him access to her online bank account, and he emptied the funds.

They've been ringing up older people saying there's a fault with their BT phone, even though these folks aren’t even BT customers. It's really worrying some of the residents and has caused quite a bit of upset.

I got a call from 01952857249 right in the middle of my lunch break - seriously, such a lousy time to ring! Of course, they didn’t bother leaving a voicemail or anything. Typical.

I've received multiple calls from this particular number. They claim to be from BT and insist that they've detected hackers accessing my internet. They always ask me to have my machine nearby. I usually let them ramble on for a while before hanging up, as I know it's a scam. Occasionally, they persistently call me back immediately after. Despite being registered with TPS, it doesn't seem to provide any relief. Being elderly, I'm cautious about these calls, but there must be countless vulnerable elderly individuals out there. It's crucial to put an end to these nuisance calls.

I received two phone calls today from individuals claiming to represent BT. They informed me that there are issues with my internet connection and that it will be cut off within the next hour. They asked if I was sitting at my computer so that they could assist me with troubleshooting. It's distressing to think that these fraudulent callers are able to get away with such deceitful practices. I believe it is possible for authorities to trace the number provided.

Received some calls today from individuals purporting to be from BT, which I found possible as I have been experiencing internet issues lately. They claimed that the call was not related to my internet problems, but focused on my computer instead. They alerted me to scammers attempting to gain access to my computer and requested that I perform certain actions on my laptop, which I didn't understand. Consequently, I hung up repeatedly, but they persistently called back. Frustrated, I finally mentioned that I was stepping out and was advised that they would ring me again later.

I have received two phone calls from this particular number. When I requested a return number, they provided me with BT's number. Usually, I'm quite cautious when it comes to scammers, but since we've been experiencing some internet issues, I thought it might be legitimate. However, now I am absolutely convinced that they are indeed scammers.

Had a couple of calls on our landline today while we were out at work. Fortunately, we've got Call Angel so it picked them up. Our number is supposed to be on the preference list, so not sure why they keep ringing. Definitely don’t respond to these calls, it’s a scam for sure.

My mother receives frequent calls from a particular phone number. The person on the other end of the line is always Asian. They claim to be from BT and insist that there are issues with our WiFi which will lead to its termination. It's important to note that my mother is 80 years old and does not have any affiliation with BT, nor does she understand what WiFi is, let alone possess it. I firmly believe that these calls are somehow connected to Talktalk. They only began after my mother switched to Talktalk as her service provider.

I received two phone calls recently from the same number. The callers had distinct accents that indicated they were from India or Pakistan. However, the line was very noisy, making it difficult to communicate. These individuals claimed to be representatives from BT and insisted that there was an issue with my internet connection that would result in imminent disconnection. It's worth mentioning that although I am a BT customer, I don't have an internet connection through them. Whenever I mentioned that my phone number is both ex-directory and registered with TPS (Telephone Preference Service), they promptly ended the call.
