I received a call from a chap named Nathan, who was representing Moto or something similar. Right off the bat, I made it clear that I wasn’t involved in any accidents and certainly didn’t have any injuries. He then queried why I had seemingly indicated otherwise on my recent policy renewal. I told him I hadn’t renewed anything lately and had no interest in his unsolicited call. He seemed puzzled and asked what a cold call meant, so I took a moment to explain the concept of unsolicited phone calls. Then he had the cheek to say, “Why don’t you just stop talking and listen?” I responded, saying I’d grant him a brief moment of my time, even though I suspected it was a waste. His answer was, “Oh, you think you’re so clever for giving me a bit of your time, don’t you?” The nerve! His rudeness was unbelievable, so I just hung up. I’ve no time for nonsense like that! Blocked him instantly!

Claimed to be from some firm dealing with uninsured damages - probably connected to a totally made-up car accident. Oddly, they had my full name. I wasn’t having any of it and cut the call right away. The person on the line sounded like they had a South African accent and came across quite pushy and a bit threatening, which is why I marked it as 'dangerous'.

They had my name straight away and tried to talk about some small car crash I supposedly had. Oddly, it was a young woman with a Northern accent, and my phone showed the call was from Wigan. I just told her I wasn’t buying it. Shame I was on another call then, otherwise I would have kept her going for a bit. Honestly, I didn’t pick up since I didn’t know the number. I usually think if it’s really urgent, they’ll leave a message and I can ring back. If no message’s left, I just check the number here and block if needed. After seeing what others said, I went ahead and blocked it now.

Got a call from a young bloke with an Indian accent saying he was from a car insurance claim company. He said I could get £3000 from some special compensation pot. I let him go on for about 10 minutes out of politeness, then I asked why he was so bothered about my Challenger 2 MBT paint scratch issue. He just hung up on me.

Got a call from Legal Assist / Motor Insurance Bureau saying they had details I entered on my car renewal about a small crash in the past year. When I asked for specifics like which car, when, or what kind of accident, they couldn't give me any info. I’ve reported them to the ICO and MIB since I’m an insurance broker and recognised straight away this was a dodgy call.

I received a rather alarming phone call earlier, where the caller insisted that I had been involved in a car crash. He kept droning on about it, despite my repeated denials. I clearly stated that I don’t own a vehicle and had no involvement in any sort of incident. After several iterations of the same question, I decided to end the call-it was definitely a human on the other end, not some automated system. Shortly after, my phone rang again from a different number, 0208769 3097, with a recorded message claiming there was an arrest warrant out against me for tax evasion. This unsettling call came through not once, but twice.
