I attempted to return the call, but all I got was some background music. I hung up right away, as I sensed something was off. Definitely a dodgy situation!

Got a call from some car accident firm saying I hadn’t claimed what I was owed. When I asked when the accident happened, they told me I should know since I supposedly had it. Then they went on and said “we don’t give out crap info.” I asked to talk to their manager ‘cause of the swearing and they just hung up. Proper annoying, I was hoping to mess about with them a bit more.

01942 917140 - Motorcycle accident help. 16/11/20 around 12.45. They said it was about a small accident linked to my car insurance (most likely an old thing from some quote I got on a comparison site - I always get loads of calls and emails after those). I told them if I had a claim it’s sorted and I’m not interested. Then they said I wasn’t paying attention!! Seriously cheeky!! I told them it’s them not listening and I don’t want to deal with it!!! Ended the call and blocked the number!!!

Here’s what I usually do when I get a call from a number I don’t recognise: 1. Ignore the call 2. Look up the number on Google 3. If it shows up on this or any other scam list, I save it in my contacts as "Scam" 4. My phone then automatically blocks it permanently. Would recommend you try this too.

Got a call from someone with a strong accent, sounded like a call centre. They said they had info about an accident I’d been in and that the other party accepted fault. Claimed they’d send me a cheque for £2,000 in the post. Asked stuff like when the accident happened, if anyone else was in the car, ages, and if I’d seen a doctor. Said I’d be passed to their supervisor next. They even knew my name and address. The problem? I’ve never had an accident. Blocked the number straight away.

Someone rang saying they were from MIB. I have been in a crash lately and am waiting for the MIB to get back to me, so I listened closely. But "Nicole" didn’t have any real info about my accident. I told her a few times to speak with my solicitor but she just kept chatting away, trying to get details. I ended up hanging up and called my solicitor, who thinks it might be dodgy local garages selling peoples details after crashes for cash.

Like a few others, I got a call from someone saying they were with the MIB, asking me over and over if I’d ticked a box about being in an accident. I played along and kept him talking for quite a while. He didn’t know any specifics or even who my insurance was with. Seems like he was trying to rope me into some kind of injury claim. Ended the call after about 10 minutes. Since I got insurance with a lesser-known company, I’ve had loads of these calls, probably because they shared my info with the wrong folks.
