Some bloke called sayin I had a crash back in 2019, claimed he was from Motor Advisory Group. When I asked for the car's reg number, he couldn’t give it to me. Told him straight up he was scamming me, then cut him off and blocked the number.

Got a call from an Asian lady saying I'd been in an accident, but I told her no, that didnt happen. She kept pushing so I got a bit louder and said again I hadn’t been in any accident. After about 5 minutes she finally stopped, so I politely asked her to remove my number from their list, then I hung up and blocked the number.

Got a call from some motor insurance lot claiming I'd been in a crash, which I hadn’t. The bloke kept pushing, so I just played along out of boredom. Told ’em I didn’t have any personal details of the “mate”’s car involved - said it was made up. Said I’d lost his number but might catch up this weekend. Got a call earlier from someone saying they're from the motor insurance bureau. They claimed my insurance firm emailed them about a third party hitting my car sometime in the past year. When I asked which insurance company, they didn’t know, even though they said they got an email. Told them I've never had any accidents and it sounded like a dodgy scam trying to grab my personal info. The caller had a foreign accent and there was a lot of noise on their end. I let him go on for a while and noticed he messed up on the legal time limits and other details. When I pointed it out, he sounded lost, so I told him he picked the wrong person to try and scam. It’s definitely a con. They must be buying details like phone numbers and addresses, though my address was way out of date. It’s a bit worrying, especially if you’ve lived in the same place for ages.
