I got a call asking about a road accident I supposedly had. I told them, pretty chill, that crashing a Chinook Attack Helicopter into a milk float hardly seems like a road accident to me. Guess they didn’t see the humour in it like I did.

They said I’d had an accident in the past year or so. I told them I get into one pretty much every week and asked for the specifics. Then they just cut me off?? Proper cheeky. Haha.

Yet another dubious motor insurance call - this is the second time in just two days! This caller, who called herself Leanne and was apparently phoning in from Malta, was slightly more courteous compared to their predecessor. She had the cheek to mention my name and asserted that I had been involved in a recent accident. Quite taken aback, I let her know that this was untrue. Undeterred, she then inquired about the last time I had been in an accident. When that line of questioning hit a brick wall, she proceeded to ask if any of my friends, family, or even neighbours might have had an incident! After a rather fruitless exchange, she eventually conceded defeat. I've now blocked this number and reported it to the ICO, just like I did with the previous one.

Got a call yesterday about an accident they claimed I had 18 months ago. I told them I’ve never been in any accident. The lady insisted I had one though. I asked what car I was supposedly driving at the time? She said she couldn’t share that info because of data protection. Just weird. Blocked straight away.

Received a call informing me that I was entitled to compensation for a car crash that I never had the misfortune of being involved in. Utterly fraudulent! I shared my thoughts on the matter with the chap on the other end, and he became quite nasty. Naturally, that ruffled my feathers further, so I gave as good as I got, leading him to abruptly end the conversation.

Total scammer. Said he was offering £3000 compensation for a recent accident. I kept messing with him for about 5 minutes till he got fed up and hung up. Proper dodgy. Number is blocked now.

An unusual lady got in touch with me today, claiming to work for some outfit called Accident Helpline or similar. She began firing off questions regarding a car crash that I have no recollection of, suggesting that I was somehow involved. When I mentioned my complete lack of knowledge about the incident, she carried on regardless, trying to convince me that there was a substantial insurance payout waiting for me. I had no choice but to cut the conversation short; her insistence was quite overwhelming!

A lady called me from a call centre claiming to be Katie Williams from the Motor Insurers Bureau in Milton Keynes. She said she wanted to help with an uninsured loss I was supposedly involved in. She claimed I’d admitted to this incident on a previous insurance form, which I never did. When I asked which insurer gave her that info, she couldn’t say. Surely sharing that info would break Data Protection rules. Plus, the phone number wasn’t even from Milton Keynes. I told her I work in insurance compliance and law. That was the end of the conversation.

I've had calls from this number loads, always looking for someone else. I've told them repeatedly to take me off their list, but every time they try to get my personal info, which I refuse to give. It's obvious they're scammers. The idiot I argued with just now wouldn't give me his own name or the company's, and claimed he couldn't remove me unless I shared my details.
