Got a call saying they were checking life insurance policies for Aviva, Legal and General and some others. They were really pushy and quite rude. Kept ringing a few times every day until I had to block the number. They already had some of my details which is a bit worrying, but it’s obvious they were just trying to scam me.

When I asked where he got my details, he went, "I'm the one asking the questions, mate," and kept on with it. I told him with that attitude he could jog on and never ring back. The person on the other end struggled with English and repeatedly asked for details which set off alarm bells for me. They insisted that the review was related to regulations and that they weren’t trying to sell me anything. However, they also mentioned they could add some complimentary features. I ultimately reached out to Barclays for clarification, and they confirmed that such practices are not part of their protocol.
