3 yearsI've received at least a couple of calls from this number now, employing that all too familiar tactic: "Hi, it’s ...I’m returning Mr_____'s call. He instructed me to contact him today." They even mentioned my business and my life partner, who’s a registered director - really easy pickings for them, I suppose. When I pressed for details regarding the purpose of the call, they refused to clarify and insisted on being transferred, acting as if my (employer) would be quite displeased if I didn't comply. Strangely, they wouldn't divulge their name or the company they represent, even after I pointed out that my partner had definitely NOT requested their call. I firmly asked them to take our company off their list and blocked the number. They also rang from another line, where the response was something like, "Thank you for calling Pioneer. Unfortunately, all our agents are currently occupied; please try again later.” There’s no company named 'Pioneer' in Durham, so this reeks of a scam for sure, though I’m not entirely certain what angle they’re working.PioneerDurham3 yearsA chap with a pronounced Southern twang named "Glen Williams" rang our main office on two separate occasions within 18 hours, insisting on a chat with the Managing Director by name. He was quite secretive about the purpose of his call and came across as rather curt. All he would say was that he was phoning from "Pioneer" in relation to an email he had sent to the MD. He kept asserting that the MD would recognise him, which is a bit rich since our MD has absolutely no recollection of him. He mentioned he’d be giving us another ring. There was quite a racket in the background, suggesting he was either in a busy call centre or somewhere equally bustling.Glen WilliamsMD3 yearsA chap with a Southern twang, introducing himself as "Glen Williams," rang our headquarters on two separate occasions within the span of 18 hours. He repeatedly requested to chat with the managing director, whom he addressed by name, yet he was rather tight-lipped about the purpose of his call. His manner was quite curt, and all he would reveal was that he hailed from "Pioneer" and was referencing an email sent directly to the MD. He was adamant that the MD would be familiar with him (which is rather far-fetched, as the MD has never encountered this individual). He also stated he would be making another attempt to reach out. The background noise suggested he was likely in a call centre, which only added to the chaos.Glen WilliamsMD3 yearsReceived a rather incessant call from a chap named Mike Waddington, who insisted he had some sort of prior arrangement with our CEO. To our surprise, our CEO had no recollection of him whatsoever. His persistence was quite bothersome, to say the least!Mike Waddington3 yearsEncountered quite an unpleasant individual by the name of Claire Jones. She seems to have this misguided belief that impoliteness and fabrications about having had previous chats with the Managing Director will somehow grant her access to him. Unfortunately for her, that’s not how it works! Her abrasive attitude will lead her straight to the block list, and I’ll be sure to leave a fitting review about her company too.Claire Jones3 yearsThe individual on the line inquired about the director's whereabouts. Upon learning that they were unavailable, the caller promptly disconnected.3 yearsI encountered a rather unpleasant individual named Claire Jones - she seems to believe that her discourteous behaviour and fabrications regarding the managing director being aware of the call would somehow grant her access to him. Absolutely not! Such disrespect will lead to her being blocked, and rest assured, I’ll also be leaving a fitting review about her company.Claire JonesSubmit Your Own Report (0191 300 3764)
