01822300015 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 01822300015 👆 is reported as a frequently used number by scammers impersonating well-known companies like O2, Three, Santander, and others. Callers often claim to offer contract discounts, billing assistance, or fraud alerts but usually ask for personal details or try to get victims to install software. The calls often originate from overseas call centres, with callers using VOIP technology and multiple spoofed numbers. Many report unclear or heavily accented voices, unsolicited persistent calls, silent voicemails, and no genuine relationship to the purported location or company. Blocking has limited effect due to repeated number changes. Victims are urged not to engage, never to provide personal information, to report incidents via official police fraud channels, and to notify their MPs to press for stronger telecom regulations and improved caller authentication technology.

They claim to be from O2 but are really just using VOIP to cover up their true location. They'll ring you from a bunch of different numbers, so it's hard to tell what's going on.

It's getting ridiculous with these scammers using VOIP numbers to trick people. When are they gonna come up with a way to finally stop these VOIP fraud calls? Can't keep letting this happen!

I heard that supposedly Microsoft takes control of your PC or something, sounds like a total scam to me.

Normally, I just ignore calls from unknown numbers, but today I thought I’d give it a go for a laugh. This bloke with an Indian accent said he was from O2, offering some special deal on my phone plan. Said it wouldn't cost me a penny and my number would stay exactly the same. He tried to hand me over to the sales team for the details. I ended up winding him up a bit and as soon as I asked his age, he cut me off! Funny thing is, I don’t even have a contract, I’m on pay-as-you-go.

I’ve never heard of anyone from Tavistock, so I just ignored the call. After reading what others have said here, it’s clear I made the right choice. Seems like it’s just another scam calling around!

Just to add on from my earlier comment, I got a voicemail that was completely silent and only lasted about three seconds.

I got a call from an Indian call centre in the afternoon, saying they were from 02 and could cut my bill down for no apparent reason. Since I know the daytime team normally ring from the north east, I had a feeling it was a scam, and I wasn’t wrong. I told the lad I never share anything on unexpected calls, which seemed to annoy him a lot. He started telling me I wouldn’t manage anything by phoning 02 myself and got more frustrated, trying to grab my personal info.

I got a ring on my mobile from this number, which was weird since I’m signed up with the Telephone Preference Service, so marketing calls should be blocked. Obviously, this call was against the rules. I didn’t pick up as I had no idea who it was. Checking here showed it’s likely from a call centre or scams. I’ve blocked the number and flagged it as spam now.

Today at about 2:30pm I got a call from 01822300015 while I was on the road, so I didn't pick up. They didn't leave a voicemail either. Later, when I rang the number from my home phone, a recorded voice said the line wasn't accepting calls at the moment and asked me to try again later. I looked up the number here and after reading the reviews, it seems like it might’ve been a scam call.

Got a call from a number with a Tavistock area code, but the person said they were calling from Kensington. It honestly sounded like some call centre. They were probably trying to push phone contracts or something, but the woman’s accent was so hard to get. When I kept asking questions, she just ended the call on me.

I missed a call from a number I don’t recognise, and they didn’t bother to leave any sort of voicemail.

Got a scam call and I just blocked the number. It's annoying that when they ring from a landline, there's no way to track them down or do anything about it. Why’s that so hard to sort?

I usually just ignore calls from numbers I don’t know but was waiting on a parcel so I figured it might be the courier. Turned out it wasn’t. The caller said he was calling from Tavistock, but honestly, I couldn’t make out a thing he was saying. He said his name was John and that was about it. Didn’t last long before I ended the call, maybe after 20 seconds.

I got a call on my mobile that showed up as "Possible Fraud". I didn’t even answer it since it seemed like a scam straight away. Honestly, if you get a call from this number, best thing to do is just block it and not pick up.

When I picked up, the person on the other end was clearly foreign and I really struggled to understand what they were saying. Once it got clear to me that it was some sort of scam, I just ended the call straight away. The number showed up as being from Tavistock, but I’ve got no connections there at all.

This number has rung me a couple of times today, but I usually don’t pick up calls from numbers I don’t recognise. So, I just left it unanswered.

Got a call from an Indian bloke claiming to be from O2 in Tavistock. Said I could get a 40% discount or something like that. I just ended the call straight away. Then rung up O2 myself to double check my account. They were really persistent about my security details, makes me think this was a well practiced con artist. Proper professional scammer, that one.

I received the oddest phone call earlier. This chap on the line claimed I was due to lose some cash on trading and suggested I ought to download some software to recoup my losses. It was clearly a dodgy scheme! I’ve never dabbled in online trading, in fact, I can’t stand it! Such bothersome nonsense!

I’ve had about 24 different phone numbers ring me since I got scammed a while back. It all started when someone called pretending to be from O2 Customer Support, promising to cut my monthly contract in half. Turns out, they tricked me into accepting an iPhone worth £1,000 and a device plan I really didn’t want or need. Later, they tried to get the phone back, saying it was "sent by mistake". Luckily, I soon realised it was a scam, sent the phone back to O2 the correct way, and my original contract was put back in place.

I got a call at my MOT garage from some bloke saying our company's insurance had been cancelled and that I had to sort it out, but I didn’t share any info obviously. The guy on the phone sounded Indian to me.

A couple of comments down explain why just blocking doesn’t always do the trick and suggest ways we can all help put a stop to these scams. Taking a minute to report these calls is just as quick as dropping a line here. We shouldn’t expect instant results, but right now the police haven’t got the full picture of how bad this problem is or the newest tricks being used. If folks who get these annoying calls and messages don’t bother reporting them or raising a fuss with their MP, nothing’s gonna change and these crooks will keep on robbing us.

I got a call from a bloke saying he was from Three, telling me I could renew my contract for just £45. But he wasn’t ringing from the usual 0333 number like they normally do, and my contract doesn’t end for another 18 months. When I pointed that out, he really rushed off the call. Seems pretty dodgy to me, like a scam.

I’ve gotten about 5 calls from this number and I can’t quite make out what they’re saying. It sounds like they’re accusing me of losing money from some kind of trading thing, but that’s definitely not true. They also keep insisting I should install some software to recover the money, which I’m not falling for. So yeah, I’ve just gone ahead and blocked them.

Over the past few weeks, these lot have called my phone more than 15 times. I rang them back once and got a recorded message from a bloke sounding Indian but trying to pass off as American. After pressing a few numbers, I was connected to an Indian lady but I couldn’t follow a word she said! I had to yell at her to take my number off their list or I'd take legal action! She promised it would be done in 48 hours. Now I’m just waiting to see if they actually do it!
