I've had at least two dozen calls from different numbers since I fell victim to a scam on another line. A person claiming to be from O2 Customer Support tried to convince me they could reduce my monthly bill by half, only for me to be stuck with a £1,000 iPhone and a device contract I never requested or wanted. They later said the phone was sent in error and wanted it back. Luckily, I realised what was going on and sent the phone back via official O2 methods, getting my original contract restored afterwards.

Had a call from some bloke claiming to be from the CPS, telling me I’d committed treason because I’d stuck a stamp the wrong way around on a letter nearly nine months ago. He reckoned it was a criminal offence, but not one that lands you in jail, just a fixed fine instead. He then tried to get my bank info to charge me £500 for this supposed fine. He warned if I refused, it would go to court and I could face a £10,000 penalty if found guilty. Clearly a total con, the lad was off his rocker. Just a heads up, especially for older people who might fall for it.
