Got a call from someone named Peter, he wanted to know if he’d reached the owner of the house. I asked him who he was and what it was regarding, but instead of answering, he just kept repeating that he wanted to speak to the property owner. After a bit of that, I just hung up the phone.

this guy with a funny accent said he was from tps and wanted to update our account info, asked me to verify the name and address which I did, then he wanted to know if the credit card on file was still the same. That’s when I told him he was a con artist cos TPS is a free thing and ended the call right away.

I got a call from a man with an overseas accent claiming to be from the telephone preference service. He mentioned my name right away, but I didn’t give him any info. He asked me to verify my address - which he said he kind of had, just missing the house name and number. Honestly, I felt a bit uneasy because of his foreign accent and thought it might be a scam, so I just hung up straight away. Later on, I saw some warnings about these sorts of calls popping up on Facebook groups for my village.

Phone rang the moment we got out of bed, and it clicked off right when the answering machine started.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with the telephone preference service, saying my card was going to expire and asking for the new details. I know TPS is free and they would never do that, so I sussed it was a scam and just hung up and blocked the number straight away.

No idea who that was. They just rang, I left a message on the answerphone and then they ended the call.

They said they were from some phone company, which felt a bit odd, then right in the middle of the call, they just cut me off. Pretty sure it’s not legit!
