This number rang me today and as soon as I told them I wasn’t interested in whatever scam they were pushing, they started swearing and being really rude. Proper nasty behaviour!

I usually ignore calls from this number, but it’s still driving me mad. Sounds like it’s one of those old Windows scams that have been doing the rounds for ages.

Got a call claiming I was eligible for a refund but needed to uninstall some software they'd supposedly installed and charged me for. Thing is, I never bought any of that stuff to begin with. No way I'm handing over any of my details to them!

Some bloke with an accent said he worked for BT Openreach and told me our internet would be cut off for a few days. I asked to talk to a supervisor and he just ended the call. The number was 01663 749279. This exact guy called me before and was really nasty. Can someone please shut these scammers down?

Someone rang claiming they were from BT Openreach, saying my phone line was going to be disconnected for three or four days because someone was trying to hack into our internet. I told him I was in bed but he didn’t seem bothered, said BT would apologise and ring me back. Then he asked me to get on my computer straight away and do some checks with him. I said I don’t have a computer, so he told me to use my iPad instead. I just hung up then. The dumb thing is he phoned my mobile instead of the landline, so I wasn’t fooled, but I reckon some people could fall for it. I checked the number first, thanks to the warnings here, which really helped.

Today, 26/09/16, I got a call from 01663749279, some bloke with an Indian accent claiming to be from BT Openreach or something. He said there was illegal stuff going on with my internet and that they’d have to disconnect me. I’ve had a couple of these calls lately. Last time it was a woman and I told her off, but this time I just pretended to go along with it. I asked if he knew who I was, and he said “Welma.” I told him no, but he kept saying it again and again. I kept saying NO back until he hung up. What a bunch of muppets.

Today I got a call from a woman with an Indian accent claiming she was from BT OpenReach. She said there was some kind of issue with my internet and it had to be switched off. I told her I don't even use BT, and she started shouting, blaming me for any problems with the service. When she asked who my internet provider was, I just chuckled and hung up straight away.

Got a call from a foreign bloke claiming he wanted to refund £300 into our account. He said the firm was called PC Support and that it had folded. I told him I never paid that company and that I'd confirm with my bank first. Asked him for a callback number, he gave me "448081686470," which sounds like a UK number, yet he said he was calling from America. Seemed dodgy, so he hung up. I’m definitely going to look into that number, but I’m almost certain it’s some kind of scam.

On the morning of 07/08/16, I received a call from a bloke with an American accent, claiming he needed to discuss my computer. I told him to stop wasting my time. Since I’m on the Telephone Preference Service, I was ready to report him. But then, about three minutes later, the same guy rang back, insisting it was really important to have a chat. I told him off and hung up. Not long after, he called yet again, asking why I wasn’t answering him. I ended up shouting at him to piss off a few times before cutting the call. Luckily, he hasn’t bothered me again today.

Got a call that sounded like some kind of automated alert, and almost straight away my phone showed 36 missed calls all at once. Tried to hang up but couldn’t, so I ended up pulling the plug from the wall socket. Phone was dead for about 15 minutes after that. When I finally looked up the number, it was linked to reverse phone lookup stuff. Honestly, be careful talking to strangers on the phone these days - could be a scam just waiting to happen, not to mention the dodgy robot calls too.

So, I got a call from this number yesterday, 05/08/2016. The first bloke who answered had a pretty thick Indian accent, and I couldn’t quite catch what he was on about at first. He kept going on about me having issues with my internet speed and said he wanted to fix it for me. Knowing full well these kind of calls are scams, I thought I’d mess about with him a bit. Before long, he told me he needed to get his team leader involved. Then some other guy jumped on the line, sounding confident but again with that Indian accent. He got proper annoyed with me after a while and ended the call with a cheeky “F**k you, you mother f**ker.” Has anyone else come across anything like this from these fraudsters? Kinda funny really!

this bloke with a weird accent rings my office phone all the time. ive told him loads of times to stop calling but he just wont quit. he says something about a problem with my windows on my pc. sometimes i just let him ramble and then tell him my work pc is working perfectly fine, cheers. he still claims he's ringing my home phone about my home computer though. the moment i explain that the number he’s dialing is actually my work one, he just ends the call.
