Just got a call from this number, some bloke claimed to be from Redstar. He was going on about me maybe having an MBNA, Barclay or Capital One credit card from way back in 2009... like I’d even remember that! I decided to see what nonsense they’d spout since I think they’ve rung me before but hung up right away. He made it sound like he was going to post me some paperwork, having already got my postcode spot on. Then, suddenly, he passed me over to a lady (I could overhear their chat during the transfer, weirdly, maybe on purpose) saying I was their client! She tried setting up some arrangement related to claiming PPI compensation. I told her I thought they were just sending paperwork first, but she insisted that only happened if I agreed to proceed with a PPI claim! As I was telling her it’s probably not worth the hassle for either of us, she hung up on me! How rude, honestly! LOL! If this number calls you, just ignore it. I got a couple of missed calls on my pay-as-you-go phone and then a text popped up saying they needed to get in touch about my PPI claim. Thing is, I’ve never even done a PPI claim nor plan to! They claim to have info on how much money I’m due back (which is odd, cos I never paid PPI in the first place). The message says to reply with 'POST' if I want them to send me an info pack. They end the text with "DD Ltd" - company name I’ve never come across before!

Just got a call from 01619790711 and frankly the woman on the other end was incredibly impolite. I was pretty shocked by how disrespectful she was. It’s so frustrating that there’s nothing I can do about it.
She was talking about PPI refunds and insisted I qualified, much like what others have said here - they sound so believable but I’m sure they know nothing actualy about me.
These kinds of calls really need to be banned. There are vulnerable and even sick people out there, and those on these phones show zero empathy or common decency.

Just got a letter from Talk Talk saying their system got hacked and my info might be at risk. Then, out of nowhere, this number started ringing me every morning. Got a dodgy call from some firm named Red Star or something, saying I’m owed credit on a card I’ve never even had. Can’t believe it, I’ve never owned a credit card in my life, so it’s clearly a scam. The call came through at 12.42pm on 25th August 2015. Loads of calls have come from different numbers but they all start with 01619, so looks like they’re all from the same area. Someone really needs to find these people because it’s a blatant scam. What’s worse, they get quite rude when you tell them to stop ringing.

I’ve been getting loads of calls about PPI claims and some about accidents I’ve not had, so I just ignore any number I don’t know now. Don’t bother picking up if the number looks unfamiliar, it’s probably something dodgy.

Got a call from this number earlier and they knew way too much about a loan and mortgage I once had with First Direct. Seriously, how are they getting hold of all this info? It’s a bit creepy if you ask me. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now so hopefully, they won’t bother me again, but still, it’s really unsettling!
