Very suspicious, indeed! Today, they contacted my husband and revealed some rather private details about our mortgage and other financial commitments. They claimed they could provide a better deal on our mortgage, even though they were aware we were in a spot of negative equity. Then, rather conveniently, they mentioned they'd have someone else ring us in a few days to discuss PPI. My unsuspecting husband agreed to this, but I’ve made it crystal clear that he must not entertain the call, as we have no intention of pursuing any PPI claims-we’ve already reached out to the ombudsman. Besides, if we were to go down that route, we certainly wouldn’t engage a third party who would siphon off a hefty chunk of our potential reclaim.
