This number has been ringing me multiple times a day recently, and when I blocked it, a nearly identical one started calling. I picked up once today and right away, without saying who they were, the person asked me to confirm my name and then if I'd done some sort of industrial work. I told them nicely that I had no idea what they meant and ended the call. But since then, I've had more calls from other similar numbers, which is really annoying.

This number keeps ringing me a lot over the past few years. They havent stopped yet and often change their reason for ringing. Looks like they are trying different scams. They tried contacting me 4 times this morning alone. I picked up the first call but just ignored the rest, they seem to give up quickly if you dont answer. Not a robo call, a real person answered claiming to be from 'BT tech support' today. Got myself a new phone thats got the option to block up to fifty contacts, and honestly its been a lifesaver. Cost me about forty quid, but totally worth it.

I've had calls from loads of 0161 numbers, this one included, pretty much every day this week. Each time I figure out who's calling, I tell them to take me off their list, and every single time they promise they will. Obviously, they don't bother. They're just aggressive annoyances trying to fool people into handing over cash. Best thing is to just hang up straight away, but if you can, tell them to quit bothering people and get a proper job. Honestly, they might actually do more good being unemployed than pestering folks like this.

You should definitely report scam calls like this through the police’s 'Action Fraud' website. Just search for 'Action Fraud' and go to the 'police.uk' page. Then click on 'reporting' at the top and follow the steps. The police do investigate but they usually need quite a few reports on the same number or scam before they can prioritise it. If over 2,000 people had reported this number, it would’ve been sorted by now. It’s like voting - one alone is nearly useless, but thousands together make a real difference.
