10 Dec 2020 - Picked up, there was a long silence then some automated voice started talking. It sounded like it was meant to be a real person chatting with you. 11 Dec 2020 - Ignored the call. They rang back a few hours after that.

Some woman rang up asking for my husband by name, saying it was about a Noise Environment claim. When I asked what the call was regarding, she just kept demanding to speak to my husband. I asked if this was a cold call and she said no. When I pressed again about the reason for calling and why she needed to talk to him, she snapped at me with something like 'Oh, are you one of those f***ing wives?’ I told her not to talk to me like that and hung up straight away. Seriously, don’t deal with these people. It’s definitely a SCAM.

Just got a call from someone claiming to be with Industrial Environment. When I asked where exactly, she let out a big sigh and told me not to get all awkward. I said, "Excuse me, no swearing please." Another heavy sigh came through, and I told her I heard that. She said she didn’t whisper it. When I asked to speak to the manager, she said she was the boss. Then she just hung up on me!

They reckoned HMRC had wrongly taxed my payout and needed my NI number to fill out a R40 form to sort my tax refund. It all sounded a bit dodgy, so I told them to send me something in writing. Definitely seemed fishy???

Got a ring from this number earlier. The guy claimed he was with the Industrial Workings Union. Knew my name and said I was listed as someone who worked in a factory ages ago. I told him no way. He kept asking if I was sure, and I said yeah, definitely not me. Then he asked if anyone else at my address had worked in a factory. Received a call from someone claiming to represent the Mercure Hotel in my local area. Initially, I was under the impression they were reaching out regarding past events I’ve attended there. However, the lady suddenly switched gears and mentioned it was about my factory employment, which struck me as odd since I've never set foot in a factory in my life!
