They tried to reach me again, but I chose to disregard their call.
Upon reviewing my mother's bank statement, I found no transactions on the specified date, leading me to firmly suspect that this call was a scam. Particularly since the IBAN includes both the sort code and account number.

Got a call from a lady with an Asian accent who spoke dreadful English, saying we owed a refund of £119 for overpaying on insurance for our washing machine. Got a call about a £119 refund from something that happened back in October 2021. I told them to just post me a cheque, but when I wouldn’t share my bank info, they just ended the call.

This phone number is linked to Turk Telekom in Turkey, registered under Kocman University in Istanbul. It seems a telecom service operated from a room via mu.edu.tr or nic.tr. They're calling people up, asking for ID details so they can scam money. The calls come from an address in Mugla Bodrum, 100 Yil Mahallesi Sokak Cd, Turkey. Loads of calls to folks in England are coming from Turk Telekom with the number 01615201964. Watch out, it's a dodgy one!

Got a call from a landline to my own landline, and the person on the other end spoke with a kind of foreign accent. They were going on about some "incorrect payment" of £199 for a washing machine guarantee - don’t even own a washing machine like that. I just told them they’d got the wrong number and ended the call. Pretty sure it was some sort of scam.

Got a call saying I was owed a refund for some extended warranty I supposedly paid too much for. Told them I never had one, and had to be pretty firm about it. Pretty clear she was gonna try and get my bank info next for the “refund”. Total scam!

Some bloke with a strange accent called me earlier, claiming I’d overpaid by £199 on a guarantee for my washing machine. He wanted to know if I wanted the refund sent straight to my bank, but I asked for a cheque instead. Then he said he’d connect me to a supervisor, but the phone just cut off. I don’t even have any warranty like that, so it’s clearly a dodgy call trying to scam me.
