I got a call from this number twice, but when I picked up, there was complete silence. No one said a word.

So this number rang me yesterday. After a bit, a woman asked if I was the one paying for the phone service. I just hung up. They called back straight away but I ignored it, then kept ringing a few more times. I never picked up. They didn’t leave any voicemail either.

Got a call earlier from someone claiming to be the TPS, saying they were blocking international calls and needed my direct debit details. It just didn’t sound right, so I ended the call straight away. Afterwards, I rang the genuine TPS number and they confirmed it’s a scam. They also told me they’d never get in touch unless there was an active complaint. Definitely steer clear of this one!

This number has been blowing up my phone non-stop for days. Fed up, I finally picked up. The guy on the other end somehow already knew my name and where I live, claiming he was calling to help me put an end to annoying calls. I told him the real nuisance was him and then just ended the call.

I use a nuisance call blocker on my phone, so if your number isn’t saved it just won’t ring through. When I went to look at missed calls, I saw 01613540624 on there. I blocked that one, but the very next day another different number appeared. When I looked up these numbers online, the reviews and comments were all pretty much identical. Looks like the company keeps switching numbers, probably using loads from all over the place, not even sticking to one area code.

Over the span of three days, this number, 01613540624, kept ringing me non stop. They just wouldnt accept me saying no - really pushy and annoying. I called back to try sort things out, only to get an automated message saying the number’s “not in service.” Weirdly, there was some mention of VIDX too, but it was pretty unclear what that was about.

Just got a call from someone claiming to be from telephone preference saying they needed to “update” the info they supposedly already had from my debit card. Then they asked for my sort code and account number! When I told them to read my details back so I could check, they said “we use biometrics and it won’t recognise your voice.” What?? How am I supposed to verify anything if you can’t even say the numbers properly? This scam was just too ridiculous to even take seriously.

They called me like 5 times today alone. I’ve complained before saying they should block all these annoying calls, even from abroad and everything. Told them to stop frightening the elderly with this nonsense, then just hung up. Despite that, I got another 3 calls later - sometimes someone actually spoke, other times it was just dead silence. Feels like these are the very nuisance calls they claim to prevent. Don’t bother trusting them, could be a total scam. Better check from somewhere else if it’s genuine before you get involved.

I got a phone call from 0161 354 0624 today. The bloke on the line said his name was Michael and that he was calling from the Telephone Preference Service, but he was asking for the expiry date of my Visa Debit card. I didn’t give him any details, and then he just said goodbye and hung up. Pretty obvious scam if you ask me!

Same here, wouldn't tell me the card's expiry date. I just ended the call, but then he called me back, sounding annoyed, saying he never asked for any cash or he'd be fired. I kept pushing for a number to check the company, and after some fuss, he gave me 02036305057. He said he'd wait for my call, but obviously, I never bothered calling.

Looks like this is one of those PPI calllers from what I've read. They rang me around 12.45 on 20/12/17 and since the number wasn’t familiar on my caller ID, I just ignored it. I’m gonna block it but honestly, not sure how much that'll help since they probably have loads of other numbers to ring. The real issue is who’s handing out our numbers to these lot? Can’t believe it, they just phoned me again while I was typing this! The TPS and data protection laws don’t seem to protect us at all and seriously, the law needs sorting out quick!

Today I got a call from this number and they said they were from TPS, telling me that telemarketing calls will be stopped from tomorrow. While we were talking, they suddenly asked for my credit card expiry date which felt really dodgy. I refused to give anything, then the person asked me to fetch a bank statement and share some sort of reference number with them. After that, they just ended the call. Quite fishy if you ask me!

They keep ringin me up, tryin to get me to let them fix a computer I dont even own, or talk about some accident I’m not involved in ’cause I don’t even drive. Today alone I got about a dozen calls on my landline from that number. I’ve put call guardian on it so they can’t actually connect unless I let them, but it’s gettin seriously annoying now and there’s gotta be some way to stop it.

If you're with TalkTalk too, just dial 14258, hit the star key twice when prompted, and it'll block that caller. Works for any number, but you need to use the most recent one that rang you. So fed up with these constant calls!

Similar to what others have mentioned, the person on the phone said they were from TPS and told me my service contract was up. When I questioned him about it, he kept insisting that his company handles all the telephone preference services across the UK. I told him that wasn't true and then he just hung up. The call came from an Indian number, even though the area code was Manchester.

They claimed they could stop all international calls and block calls coming from IP servers. Turns out that's totally false, they can’t do any of that. Feels like a scam so they probably just wanted my credit card info. Watch out, this number is definitely dodgy.

Somebody rang up claiming to be from a telephone preference service, asking if I'd noticed fewer annoying sales calls - which was totally weird since they were calling me! Then they said my protection would end at midnight unless I signed up with them. It felt like a scam, so I challenged them nicely, but the woman was super stubborn, like a giraffe with a stiff neck or summat. She kept giving me her work phone number, address, and even said I could pop round. After a while, she just started mumbling to herself and hung up. Proper persistent, that one.
