i usually just ignore calls from numbers i dont know and wait for them to leave a voicemail. most scammers dont bother to leave messages, and if they do, it’s pretty obvious it’s dodgy. this one was 01613543863. a phone number is just a phone number, how’m i supposed to tell what sort it is?

Got a ring on my phone from an 0161 number, so I picked up thinking it might be about my folks since they're both elderly. Some guy named Martin from SA rang, chatting about some "accident" of mine. I gave him a right piece of my mind and he just dropped the call.

Definitely a dodgy company. Some guy with a South African accent mentioned two separate firm names, AMS and LCM, and gave me a website that’s not real. When I told him to remove my details from their system, he just asked how he was meant to do that. Asked about their GDPR rules and he seemed clueless. Loads of calls from various 0161 354 ----- numbers, all blocked, but they keep ringing from new ones.

Some bloke from overseas keeps calling me loads of times daily, saying my name on the phone.

Got a call from someone looking for a person who I’m not. Told them they must have dialled the wrong number, and then they just hung up without even saying sorry for bothering me.

That same firm phoned me earlier and got really aggressive when I asked how they got my info. I brought up GDPR and the guy snapped, asking if I'd been in an accident or not. Then he started slagging me off, even made a crude remark about my mum! He kept going on like that for ages. I rang the number back and it went straight to a message saying the call was blocked by fraud prevention.

Got a call claiming I was in an accident recently. Totally surprised me since me and my car have been perfectly alright for the past 17 years! I just blocked the number. Hope this new GDPR stuff eventually lets us shut down these annoying companies. Would be great to call back all the ones I’ve had to block and ask if they’ve had their business shut down yet.
