Total scam. I asked them which street in Manchester they were at, and they said Station Road. I told them today’s their lucky day coz I was only 5 minutes away and would swing by. They hung up on me right away.

I keep getting incessant calls from this number, and it's clear they're up to no good. I foolishly picked up once ages ago, and they pretended to be from O2, probing about my spending and attempting to lure me into supposed savings. If O2 doesn't take action against this, I might consider switching providers. While they might not technically be breaking the law unless someone falls for their tricks financially, it’s high time this nonsense was put to a halt. I've noticed they often use numbers ending in 56, 81, and 88 - to be honest, anything similar seems suspect to me!

If you get silent or dropped calls, you should report them to OFCOM. These spammers really dont pay attention to comments here, but they freak out when they get flagged by OFCOM. It only takes a couple of minutes to do on their website. Your phone provider really couldnt care less since they just make money selling caller ID and making you pay for call blocking services.

This number has rung our mobile a good few times now. It's quite staggering how some folks think we're all daft. It's clearly an unwanted call. Honestly, they must be a few sandwiches short of a picnic to assume we wouldn’t catch on. What on earth is happening to society? It seems the 'powers that be' are far more preoccupied with their endless bickering, acting like toddlers in a playground, rather than addressing any real issues.

This number persistently interrupts me at work or while I’m in meetings. It’s quite uncanny how it always seems to ring just as I’m tied up with something important! I finally reached my limit and stepped out of a meeting to take the call, thinking it could possibly be from a bank or an official contract trying to reach me. To my surprise, there was absolute silence on the other end. After pressing for an answer and still getting nothing, I eventually hung up. It certainly feels like a scam to me. If you haven’t picked up yet, I’d advise against it. Reporting it to the police, letting O2 know about it, or simply blocking the number altogether would be wise if you prefer to avoid any further hassle.

This number is definitely a scam. I contacted O2 about it back on 07/03/2017 and they said they passed it on to their investigations team. Don't share any info with whoever calls, just ignore them. If they say they’re from O2, call the official O2 number instead. Don’t answer calls thinking it’s a legit company.

Got a call from someone claiming to be O2, asking how I’m getting on with my O2 Pay and Go plan. Strange thing is, I left O2 nearly 2 years ago (I’m with GiffGaff now, which is connected to O2 but its own company). If you want to talk to O2, ring them up yourself. This number is definitely dodgy.

I called O2’s Slough office straight away to check on these people, and was told they're legit (which surprised me, 'cos this Manchester outfit seemed like a total con). They’re pushing you to switch from Pay As You Go to a contract, but want your bank info over the phone first. I said no way, and asked them to send me an email so I could read the fine print properly. They said that wasn’t possible (bit odd, right?), so we just went back and forth for about 30 minutes until they finally gave up and hung up on me mid-chat. They’re just time-wasters - best to just put the phone down.

I decided to dig a little deeper by giving O2 a bell afterwards, and it turns out that they really are who they claim to be. They're pushing for customers to transition from Pay As You Go to a contract plan, but to do that, they insist on obtaining your bank details over the phone. I flatly refused that request and suggested they email me instead, allowing me some time to consider it properly. To my surprise, they couldn't accommodate that and we ended up in a bit of a tussle for about thirty minutes before they finally threw in the towel and terminated the call. Personally, I don’t mind stretching their time a bit, seeing as it’s their call charges at stake, but for anyone who's (a) not keen on disclosing sensitive bank information over the phone or (b) has more pressing commitments, it would be wise to just hang up straight away.

Just received a call moments ago from the number 0161 277 6652, claiming to represent O2. The chap was rambling on about some deal to lower the rates for Pay As You Go users. I told him I was quite content with my current plan, and it seemed to ruffle his feathers a bit. He promptly responded, "Oh, okay, then we'll just leave you on your existing tariff, goodbye." Not exactly the standard of customer service you'd expect from O2, is it? Sounds more like a scam to me!

Received a call from someone claiming to be from O2, insisting that I was on a pay-as-you-go plan. The truth is, I’m not, and the individual became quite aggressive, declaring that the system indicated otherwise. I’ve already confirmed with O2 that this number isn’t affiliated with them at all. It’s definitely another scam attempt aimed at fishing for bank details or similar information. Avoid this number like the plague!

This number has attempted to reach me several times. I picked up the phone on this occasion, but just as the conversation began, the call dropped. All I could hear in the background was what resembled an office environment, but no one was on the other end to respond. Quite odd, really.

Got a call from them earlier, picked up and they said they were from o2 but the voice was all strange and robotic. They mentioned the call was being recorded, asked how I was, said I sounded quite "young," and then went on about if my parents were around. Very odd!

I just had a ring from 0161 277 6652 on my mobile, some bloke claiming to be from o2, asking about my tariff and if I wanted to switch to a better one. I’ve been with o2 since the old BT Cellnet days and never had any call like this from them, so I’m pretty sure this is a scam. If you’re wondering, the o2 call centres are in Bury and Runcorn - wouldn’t expect them to have opened one in Manchester out of the blue.

Received a call while I was on a hospital ward, and there was silence on the other end. I mentioned I was in a hospital, and shortly after, they called again. I decided to ignore that one as well, and if they attempt to ring me again, I'm ready to block the number.
