Total scam. I asked them which street in Manchester they were at, and they said Station Road. I told them today’s their lucky day coz I was only 5 minutes away and would swing by. They hung up on me right away.

These calls never stop, and I’m certain it’s a scam. Ages ago, I foolishly picked up once, and they pretended to be O2, asking about my spending and if I wanted to save money or whatever. If O2 doesn’t sort this mess, I’m seriously considering switching providers. They might not technically be breaking laws unless you actually hand over cash, but this sort of practice should be banned regardless. Plus, I’ve noticed the numbers often end with 56, 81, or 88 - any call from such numbers is probably dodgy.

If you get silent or dropped calls, you should report them to OFCOM. These spammers really dont pay attention to comments here, but they freak out when they get flagged by OFCOM. It only takes a couple of minutes to do on their website. Your phone provider really couldnt care less since they just make money selling caller ID and making you pay for call blocking services.

Got loads of calls on my mobile from these lot. Honestly, you'd think they'd have some respect instead of acting like everyone’s daft. It’s clear we don’t want their calls. This number is definitely a scam. I contacted O2 about it back on 07/03/2017 and they said they passed it on to their investigations team. Don't share any info with whoever calls, just ignore them. Got a call from someone claiming to be O2, asking how I’m getting on with my O2 Pay and Go plan. Strange thing is, I left O2 nearly 2 years ago (I’m with GiffGaff now, which is connected to O2 but its own company). If you want to talk to O2, ring them up yourself. This number is definitely dodgy.

I called O2’s Slough office straight away to check on these people, and was told they're legit (which surprised me, 'cos this Manchester outfit seemed like a total con). They’re pushing you to switch from Pay As You Go to a contract, but want your bank info over the phone first. I said no way, and asked them to send me an email so I could read the fine print properly. They said that wasn’t possible (bit odd, right?), so we just went back and forth for about 30 minutes until they finally gave up and hung up on me mid-chat. They’re just time-wasters - best to just put the phone down.

After getting a call, I decided to ring O2 myself to check if the callers were legit. Turns out, they really were who they claimed, trying to convince me to switch from a Pay As You Go plan to a contract one. Got a call from someone claiming to be from O2, saying I was on pay as you go. I’m definitely not! When I told them this, they got really rude and kept saying that’s what their system showed. Don’t pick up if this number rings - I checked with O2 and it’s nothing to do with them. Just another scam trying to grab your bank info.

I got a couple calls from this number before but never picked up. Today I finally answered and the line went dead right away, but I heard what sounded like an office type background noise before it dropped. No one spoke or anything.

Got a call from them earlier, picked up and they said they were from o2 but the voice was all strange and robotic. They mentioned the call was being recorded, asked how I was, said I sounded quite "young," and then went on about if my parents were around. Very odd!

I just had a ring from 0161 277 6652 on my mobile, some bloke claiming to be from o2, asking about my tariff and if I wanted to switch to a better one. I’ve been with o2 since the old BT Cellnet days and never had any call like this from them, so I’m pretty sure this is a scam. If you’re wondering, the o2 call centres are in Bury and Runcorn - wouldn’t expect them to have opened one in Manchester out of the blue.

I was in hospital on a ward when they decided to ring me. It was dead quiet and no one was talking. I told them I was at the hospital, but they called again a bit afterwards. This time I just ignored it and if they ring once more, I’m definitely blocking the number.
