I think this loan firm is a total ripoff... tried to scam me but luckily it didn’t work out for them lol.

This number called me saying I had to pay £250 straight away, but since I couldn’t, they said they’d put it into my bank and asked me to send the money via MoneyGram to a Freddie Hughes. I went ahead since it wasn’t my own money. Now they're telling me to pay £200 more and that once I do, they’ll put the loan in my bank, telling me to use the same post office again. They promised I’d get the loan half an hour later. What should I do from here?

My mum's partner got a call from this number offering him a £5,000 loan (he'd applied for a few before) but they asked for an upfront payment of £185 via bank transfer to a Halifax account, promising the cash would show up in 10 minutes. Then they rang again, saying he had to pay £249 tax on the loan through Western Union to India. When he said he couldn’t afford it, they threatened a £2,000 fine for avoiding tax. They said they were from Secured UK Loans. Me and my mate decided to try applying for a loan just to see what happens. Sure enough, the same number called us back but pretending to be different companies - Authority Finance called me, and my mate got Ever Money. They wanted my mate to pay £285 upfront via Lloyd's and wanted me to pay £120 split across 3 different accounts: Lloyd's, Halifax and Natwest. They said they were ringing from a call centre but every time I called back, the same bloke answered - highly suspicious, right? It sounds like they're playing a recorded line or something. My advice: don’t pick up if this number comes up. I checked with the FCA and Authority Finance and Ever Money are legit, so this has got to be scammers pretending to be them. The number was 0151 528 6662. Watch out!

Today I got a call from this firm, saying I could get a £4000 loan but I had to pay £299 first as some sort of tax. I said no thanks, but then an hour later £161 disappeared from my bank - they must have got my details from another place I applied to. Total scam! I contacted my bank straight away and they said the cash was sent off to India right away. Watch out for these lot, or better yet, find a way to stop them! The number was 01515286662.

This number rang me, and a bloke with a foreign accent answered, saying his name was Ian Parker. He claimed I could get a loan but had to pay £199 upfront, then the money would be in my account. I gave him my bank details but not my card info. Later, I checked with my bank, and they said no money could be taken without a direct debit set up. I called the guy back to tell him it was a scam. His English-sounding name didn’t sit right with me at all. Definitely avoid any dealings with these people, something fishy going on.

I’ve fallen prey to a scam by someone claiming to be Roderick Braga from a site called http://www.badcredithistory.uk/. They kept ringing me from the same number, and there was a woman - I think her name was Angela, who said she was the "account manager," and a bloke named David Philip Morgan claiming to be the "general manager." They promised me £6000 when I only applied for £5000, which seemed too good to be true, and sadly it was. They kept insisting everything was totally legit and that if I paid more, it was refundable, but if I didn’t, I wouldn’t get any money. Just be careful of these people, especially if you get calls from Liverpool, they’re really sneaky. I’m determined to bring them to justice no matter how long it takes. This scam needs to stop.
