Just like what lots of others have said, this number seemed pretty convincing at first. Luckily, I looked it up here before I called it back! It rang a couple of times this morning and they even left two voicemails. Glad I didn't get caught out!

got a robo call pretending to be from hmrc saying i had to ring back or i'd face legal trouble. obvious nonsense. hmrc always sends letters for official stuff, and if they did ring you, they'd give a reference number to mention. i’m in finance and have dealt with hmrc loads, so i could spot the scam straight away but i can see why some folks might fall for it.

Definitely a scam - steer clear! Got a call from this number claiming to be from hmrc, asking me to urgently call them back. I didn’t catch the very start of the voicemail but it had this threatening tone like ‘ignore this and you’ll face legal trouble’. Sounds pretty shoddy, but I can see how it might freak some people out enough to ring back. Blocked the number straight away and thought I'd warn others.

Got a call from 01515286604 with an automated message saying it was officer Denis Grey from HM Revenue and Customs. Tried ringing back but no one picked up, which gave me the vibe straight away that it’s a scam. Honestly, what mugs!
