Got a call claiming it was from RAC Insurance about a seatbelt liability claim linked to an accident in the past two years. Played along at first but then told her I'd already been compensated by my own lawyer.

This number keeps ringing me every single day, so I finally picked up today. Turns out it’s some insurance firm named AAC. They greeted me just using my first name, which felt a bit dodgy. Normally proper companies use your full name when they call. They also said I’d had an accident in the last year and a half, which I had made a claim on. But my last claim was back in December 2017. So I just ended the call.

If folks just ignored cold calls they’d probably stop pretty quick. The thing is, some people do answer, so those companies keep going. I don’t bother with them, and if a business keeps ringing or sending unwanted mail, I make a point of never dealing with them, and I’ve stuck to that a few times now.

Got a missed call from this number the other day. Normally I ignore unknown numbers but every now and then I answer in case it’s something urgent. It’s annoying that loads of calls come through with no caller ID or from people who just keep answering random calls out of fear of missing out. The number wasn’t from Scotland or Edinburgh, where I am, so probably a call centre abroad. The lady had an Asian accent too. I’ll mark it as unknown for now, unless they keep bothering me.
