On the 17th of February 2020, I received a call from a guy speaking with an Asian accent. He said he was from some “accident verification team” in Sheffield, claiming to be connected with the British justice and legal dept. He started quizzing me about a slight car accident I supposedly had. After I kept questioning him back, he handed the phone to another guy, also with an Asian accent, who kept pushing me to share info about the accident’s result. Eventually, I ended the call. When I checked the number through 1471, it turned out the caller ID was blocked.

On the 25th of July 2016, I got a call from a bloke with an Asian accent claiming to be Steven Roger (quite a British name, mind you!) from the accident verification team at Liverpool’s road traffic department. I asked him for all his details and after I said I had everything I needed to report his dodgy scam to the TPS, he just cut the call. Typical scammer behaviour if you ask me.

I got a call from someone saying they were an ‘accident claims manager’. I hung around on the line for a bit and found out their address was listed as Atlantic Way Business Park in Liverpool.

Some bloke rang my missus claiming he was from a solicitors’ motor accident claims team. We’ve got our number registered with the telephone preference service, so we’re meant to be off-limits to cold calls. By law, marketing firms should definitely be filtering their lists to avoid ringing numbers like ours. My wife turned the call onto speaker and told him this. Instead of apologising, the guy just shouted "bleeding hell, get lost" a bunch of times before hanging up. Really want to know which company he was from.

I received two calls back to back, mere minutes apart, claiming to be from the 'Road Traffic Authority' regarding some supposed accident I was involved in. I told them to do one both times! This number has been a nuisance before, peddling the same old story.

I had a similar experience today, 26 March 2015. The caller had a strong accent and the line was dreadful, constantly cutting in and out. They claimed that they thought I had been involved in an accident in the past three years (which is simply not the case!). I received a call from this number at 10:23 this morning (19/3/2015), and it’s certainly not the first time. The twit on the other end didn’t utter a word, and promptly disconnected when I picked up. It seems this has been an ongoing issue for quite a while, as countless others have voiced similar grievances across various forums. Given the numerous complaints and the existence of the Telephone Preference Service, how on earth are they still allowed to carry on like this?

Got a call from a guy claiming he was with an accident investigation team. He told my husband that someone in his family had been hurt in an accident. Honestly, if it weren't for the terrible English and odd way he spoke, we might have been really terrified. It's awful how people make these cruel calls. Someone could seriously get stressed out or worse because of these thoughtless tricks.

I got a call from this Indian woman who said her name was Lisa and claimed to be part of some ‘accident verification department’. She wanted to know if I or anyone linked to my number had an accident over the past three years. When I questioned her about how she found my number, she just hung up on me.

I received a call from someone claiming to represent Accident Compensation UK Ltd, though it appears this firm is nothing but a fabrication. When I requested their company registration number, they were unable to provide it. I also inquired about their website, which turned out to be equally non-existent. They offered the same phone number from which they called, suggesting I could ring back for reassurance, as if that would validate their legitimacy. Honestly, what a load of nonsense! An impolite caller rang me claiming they had my number because someone had reported a mishap. I firmly told them to clear off. To my surprise, I received another call from the same number an hour later. This time, it was a different individual. I decided to answer but kept mum, and they just kept repeating 'hello' until they grew frustrated and hung up. Quite the nuisance, if you ask me!

I've been receiving calls from this number daily at approximately 10:05 in the morning for the past week. It rings about four times before it’s redirected to my voicemail, only for the caller to drop off. When I attempt to return the call, it just keeps ringing for about ten times before it disconnects abruptly. It’s rather frustrating, especially since we’re ex-directory and registered with the Telephone Preference Service, so I’m quite perturbed that they’ve managed to get hold of our number.
