On the 17th of February 2020, I received a call from a guy speaking with an Asian accent. He said he was from some “accident verification team” in Sheffield, claiming to be connected with the British justice and legal dept. He started quizzing me about a slight car accident I supposedly had. After I kept questioning him back, he handed the phone to another guy, also with an Asian accent, who kept pushing me to share info about the accident’s result. Eventually, I ended the call. When I checked the number through 1471, it turned out the caller ID was blocked.

On the 25th of July 2016, I got a call from a bloke with an Asian accent claiming to be Steven Roger (quite a British name, mind you!) from the accident verification team at Liverpool’s road traffic department. I asked him for all his details and after I said I had everything I needed to report his dodgy scam to the TPS, he just cut the call. Typical scammer behaviour if you ask me.

I got a call from someone saying they were an ‘accident claims manager’. I hung around on the line for a bit and found out their address was listed as Atlantic Way Business Park in Liverpool.

Some bloke rang my missus claiming he was from a solicitors’ motor accident claims team. We’ve got our number registered with the telephone preference service, so we’re meant to be off-limits to cold calls. By law, marketing firms should definitely be filtering their lists to avoid ringing numbers like ours. My wife turned the call onto speaker and told him this. Instead of apologising, the guy just shouted "bleeding hell, get lost" a bunch of times before hanging up. Really want to know which company he was from.

I got two calls back to back, less than a couple minutes apart. They claimed to be from the 'Road Traffic Department' saying I was in some kind of accident. I just told them to buzz off both times. This number's rung me before doing exactly the same thing.

Got a call from the number 0115 324 1110 today, 26th March 2015. The person on the other end had a thick accent and the connection was really patchy, kept cutting out. They claimed I'd been involved in some kind of accident in the past three years, which is rubbish. I just said sorry, didn’t buy it, and hung up. Sounded like some Accident Investigation or something.

Got a call from this number earlier today around 10:23 (19/3/2015), and it’s definitely not the first time. The person on the other end didn’t say a word and just ended the call once I picked up. I’ve seen loads of posts on different forums about the same thing happening to others for quite a while now. With so many complaints and the TPS in place, how come this lot are still able to carry on like this?

Got a call from a guy claiming he was with an accident investigation team. He told my husband that someone in his family had been hurt in an accident. Honestly, if it weren't for the terrible English and odd way he spoke, we might have been really terrified. It's awful how people make these cruel calls. Someone could seriously get stressed out or worse because of these thoughtless tricks.

I got a call from this Indian woman who said her name was Lisa and claimed to be part of some ‘accident verification department’. She wanted to know if I or anyone linked to my number had an accident over the past three years. When I questioned her about how she found my number, she just hung up on me.

I don’t recall any accident like that, so I told them to stop calling me. Tried ringing the number back but it just kept ringing then went dead. Definitely seems like a scam!

The caller claimed to be from Accident Compensation UK Ltd, but that company doesn’t even exist. When I asked for their company registration number, they couldn’t give one. I also requested their website, which turned out to be non-existent. They gave me the number they called from saying I could call it back to prove they were legit. What a joke! Got a call from some rude person with a funny accent claiming someone had given them my number about an accident. Told them to bugger off. Then about an hour later, same number rings again. This time a different bloke on the line. I just listened in silence as he kept saying hello over and over. Eventually I got annoyed and hung up.

Got a call from a bloke with a strong accent, said something like "Accident Investigation". I went "Sorry, what now?" and he repeated it. I told him he's got the wrong number and ended the call. No idea who he was trying to reach, and he never rang back.

Been getting calls from this number every day just after 10 in the morning all week. The phone rings about four times then stops, going straight to voicemail when they suddenly hang up. I gave them a call back but it just kept ringing for ages, around 10 rings then just died off. We're on the do not call list and our number is ex-directory, so really surprised they've got hold of it. Proper disappointing.

Seems like it’s linked to some supposed engineering firm in Liverpool, though I’m not sure if that’s real or just made up. For the past three months, I’ve been getting constant calls from this number claiming to be the 'Accident Claims Centre' or sometimes 'Accident Reporting Centre'. They always sound like they’re speaking with an accent and come across quite rude. Most times when I pick up, they just hang up straight away.

Got a call from this number the other day. I picked up and a woman’s automated voice just said “Goodbye” and then hung up. I tried calling back, it rang a few times then went dead. Tried again later, and this time a regular landline answered - the person said they didn’t know anything about the number and told me to report it. This number just gave us a ring. We're on the do-not-call list, so it's pretty annoying. The person claimed to be from the A&E department. I didn’t pick up, and after a bit, they ended the call without saying more.
