I got a call from 0141 769 0191, and the person said they had some info from the UK Insurers Association about me being in an accident in the last couple years and that I might get some compensation. When I asked for more info, they started dodging the questions. Then I told them that if any insurers were sharing my details illegally, both they and whoever leaked it could be in big trouble legally. Right after that, they just ended the call.

Got a call from someone saying they were with car assist. Told me I had a payment waiting and asked for my car registration details. As soon as I refused, they just cut the call.

Auto Assist, was it? I received a rather dubious call regarding a supposedly fictitious car accident. They had the nerve to provide my name and address. When I politely inquired about their right to retain such information under GDPR, they responded in a rather condescending manner. They outright declined to offer their business address and then, with a façade of courtesy, they terminated the conversation. Quite the experience, really!
