Random bloke claiming to be from the “Legal dept at Auto Assist” rang me about some backup payment for a car crash that never happened. When I called him out as a con artist, he just wished me a good day. Fairly civil, I suppose.

Got a call from a pushy bloke claiming to be from some auto help thing, talking about an accident I supposedly had. I told him I don’t drive (my usual lie for these calls) and he went on about it being someone in my house instead. When I asked for details about this “household member,” he had no clue. Then I wanted to know where they got my info and told them to delete it right away. I ended the call there.

My mobile went off, and the moment I picked up, they dropped the call. I tried calling the number back, but it didn't even ring; it simply said the line was disconnected. It’s obviously some sort of scammer or opportunist... For heaven's sake, leave us alone and quit wasting everyone’s time!

They said they were from the legal team at Auto Assist, ringing me about a recent car accident. Coincidentally, I did have a small fender bender last week and have been talking to loads of people about it, so I nearly got caught out. It was the pushy tone and dodgy answers when I asked which firm they represented that made me realise it was dodgy. Proper glad I didn’t get tricked :(.

Got a call from someone claiming they wanted to talk about a crash I was involved in. Got a call on my cellphone from this number around 3.25pm today. A guy with an Asian accent said he was calling from some company’s Claims Department about a small traffic accident I’d supposedly been in. I asked where it had happened and he shut down the call straight away. Seems like another one of those dodgy “ambulance chaser” businesses. This bloke claimed to be from TMA about a minor accident I had. When I asked how he got my info, he said it came from UK National Insurance. I told him I never gave consent for my details to be shared with anyone else and that I'm on the TPA list, so I shouldn't be getting calls like this. He then said I had a payment waiting. I told him I wasn’t interested and asked him to take my details off their system.

"Hello, I'm calling about a crash you supposedly had a couple of years back." Took them ages to get to that point. The connection was awful, with loads of office chatter buzzing in the background. Let me guess... If you times that time frame by about 10, you're probably nearer the truth. The caller hung up super quick after I said that. Definitely sounds like an insurance scam to me.

Got a call from that same number 12.14. Loads of times now they tell me I've been in a car crash. I usually go "Oh fantastic, how much am I owed then?" and they just hang up. Once told them I died in the crash and got some proper abuse back, but I just found it funny. I'm based in Glasgow. Blocked the number but they keep ringing from different ones. Recently, they've just been silent when I answer and I've been getting a bunch of calls from 0141 numbers too.
