Received a dodgy call from someone purporting to be from the Motor Insurance Bureau. The chap had a strong Indian accent and insisted that I was involved in a car accident ages ago and had suffered some injuries. Total nonsense!

I got a call about a supposed car crash but as soon as I picked up, they just hung on me and then blocked my number right away. Total scam!

I got a phone call on the 24th July around 6.20pm, and this guy said I’d been in a car crash. When I asked for details, he claimed it happened on the 23rd January. I told him I’ve been driving for more than 20 years and never had any accidents. He insisted his company, something called Claims Direct, had info from my insurance. It sounded like a tiny place, I could hear about five people chatting in the background. I asked for his name, and he gave me a completely different one from what he said at the start of the call. When I called him out on that, he messed up and quickly hung up.

Got a call from someone called Darren, said he was with the Motor Insurance Bureau. He claimed I’d had an accident just before lockdown and said I was entitled to compensation from the other party involved. When I mentioned the ‘other party’ was actually a concrete bollard, he insisted I was still eligible for a payout. Felt like he thought I’d been rowed down the Thames in a wheelbarrow or summat!

I got a call from someone speaking with an Indian accent, telling me I'd been hurt in a car crash and that it wasn't my fault. Honestly, a lot of what he said was a bit unclear, but I told him he must've got the wrong person since I don’t even drive. He then suggested maybe I was a passenger, but I said no again and he just ended the call. Blocked the number straight away.

These car crash scammers called me saying I’d been involved in an accident. I told them I was already dead from the crash. They kept pressing about whether anyone else got hurt. I said everyone in my family died, no one made it through the terrible crash. Still, they wanted to know if anyone survived. I asked if they were daft, telling them I was a dead bloke on the phone and they really needed some help. Managed to keep them talking for about 10 to 15 minutes before I hung up and blocked the number.

This number called me a few times but I didn’t pick up since I never answer calls from numbers I don’t know. I’m based in Aberdeen, and the number had a Glasgow code. But just cause it shows a city code, it doesn’t always mean the caller is actually from there. I don’t fully understand it but at a job I had before, we had a local number that was forwarded to a number in Germany. If you don’t know the number, best to ignore it and block it.

I got a call from this woman speaking with a strong foreign accent, her English wasn’t great. She kept bugging me to give my email, postal address and other personal info, wouldn’t take no for an answer. She claimed I was entitled to some kind of third party payout from a car crash I supposedly had. They only seemed to know my name and phone number though. Definitely a scam, best just to hang up and block them straight away.

Got called by someone sayin they were from Claims Direct about a crash I supposedly had. It was a guy called Alex, sounded like he had an Indian accent, and he said he was from Glasgow area. Bit fishy if you ask me!

This morning at about 11:37, I got a call from 01417391005. I picked up but there was complete silence on the other end, no noise or anything. I’ve now decided to block this number so they won’t be able to call me back.
