I got a call from a lady claiming to ring about a recent car crash I’d been in. I told her straight up it was a cold call and she hadn’t asked for permission to phone me. When I asked where she got my number, she said it was from my health board. I was like, if that’s true then that’s a massive privacy breach and anyway, I haven’t had any accident. She didn’t wait for me to finish and just hung up.

Got a call from a guy with a really thick Indian accent, he was proper rude and kept swearing. Said he was ringing from an insurance firm. Sounds like one of those dodgy call centres in India - total scam!

Got a ring from a woman with an Indian accent, she claimed she’d heard I’d had an accident recently. I told her that wasn’t true and just ended the call. I’ve blocked the number straight away.

I didn't pick up the call initially but decided to call back. Right away, I got put on hold with some cheesy elevator music and those annoying "your call is very important" messages playing. They never said who they were from, and after waiting for about 5 minutes, the line just dropped on me. Definitely one of those dodgy spam call centres that can't stop incoming calls properly, so they just trap you in a loop and avoid answering. Added them to my blocked list!

There's no way that 739 is a valid local prefix in Glasgow's (0141) area code. Like, if the number started with 0141 558, that would mean its from Springburn in Glasgow, or if it was 0141 221 then it would be coming from the city centre. Since I’m based in Glasgow, I could tell straight away this was dodgy and probably a scam call.
