I sensed a con from the outset and promptly ended the conversation-and it appears my instincts were spot on!

Received a rather surprising phone call around 13:17 on the 19th of March, 2020. The caller was inquiring about an accident supposedly involving myself from the past couple of years. When I pressed him for more specifics about this alleged incident, his response was to tell me to "sod off." I find this behaviour wholly inappropriate and rather shocking, to say the least.

This number rang me earlier, and I didn’t pick up straight away. Thought it might be my daughter, so I called back. The voice that answered spoke in really poor English, so I just ended the call. Whoever’s behind these calls, if you’re willing to share your info and where you live, I wouldn’t mind dropping by to have a proper chat about that accident that landed you in hospital. Bit sad, really!

Is there any way to put an end to these calls? I keep getting them every week, and even though I block the number, they just ring from a different one next time. It’s so frustrating. They mostly use the 0141 code, but the worst bit is they usually can’t even say my name right or speak proper English at all. There’s gotta be some method to stop this nonsense for good.

I've had calls loads of times from 01417390941 and 01417390940 about some supposed accident or insurance stuff. I always reply like I've no idea what accident they're on about. I've been receiving calls from this number nearly every day, often with only a minor alteration to the digits. I’ve already signed up with the Telephone Preference Service because I do not wish to be bothered with unsolicited calls. These interruptions are quite bothersome particularly since I’m employed in a hectic setting where personal calls are not permitted. I got a call from 0141 7390941, and it’s the usual story - saying I’d been in a small car crash. Loads of numbers like this keep ringing me, just the last four digits change each time. Claims Direct Even though my number is registered with the Telephone Preference Service, it appears your company pays no mind to my clear wish to avoid calls from you or your call centre representatives using 0141 739 0941. I haven't been involved in any accidents, and I have zero interest in your services. Instantly put the phone down! The caller showed zero respect for TPS or any rules that OFCOM has about unwanted calls. Just so you know, 0141 is Glasgow’s code alright, but the 739 bit is totally made up. I’d know, considering I’m from Glasgow myself!
