A lady with a Scottish twang rang me the other day, wanting to have a word with my late mother, who has been gone for over a decade. She even used my mum’s surname! When I informed her of the situation, she promptly hung up without so much as a 'sorry'. I've since blocked the number and reported it to the ICO. Despite being on the Telephone Preference Service, I've been bombarded over the past few weeks by a cluster of calls from various 0141 numbers from Glasgow, all starting with 7373---. Each time I block one, another seems to pop up almost immediately. The calls are almost always either utterly silent or clearly dodgy scams. It’s become quite the nuisance!
