Suddenly, the caller flipped and started swearing at him, threatening to track him down and do awful things. Proper nasty behaviour from that side.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent saying she was from UK Mobile. She said she needed to verify what kind of mobile I own. I just ended the call and blocked the number right away. Pretty sure this wasn't a genuine call from Scotland, probably some dodgy line redirected from overseas.

They claim they just need to verify your bank information and will send you a secure text, but curiously, they can't do this via the email they have on file or through the O2 app. But don't worry, they assure you it's absolutely not a scam! That’s how they kick off their message!

The caller's accent sounded Asian, which is a shame because a small number of folks from areas like Delhi seem to be behind these scams, and it ends up making people suspicious of anyone with that accent on the phone.
