This number initially claimed to be from O2 but then switched to saying they were Carphone Warehouse. My son decided to humour them by inquiring about a particular colour of iPhone. Out of nowhere, they told him to f*** off! Then, alarmingly, they threatened to track him down, get him, and even mentioned something about slitting his throat! What a bizarre and unsettling experience!

I've received two calls from 01320 444023. I chose not to pick up because I don't entertain unknown numbers. I've gone ahead and blocked this one. For the last couple of days, my phone has been bombarded with various unfamiliar numbers, all of which I've ignored and subsequently blocked.

My phone seems to have a knack for shutting down any dodgy or scammy numbers before I can even see who's calling, so I've got no clue who it might have been this time. However, seeing that so many folks are mentioning it as a Scottish number, I might add that I recently received a call from a blocked number in Glasgow too! If these are genuine calls, there could be quite a few of us with legal matters to discuss! Perhaps we ought to organise a good old BBQ or a meet-up of some kind? How about it? 😂

I received a call that was supposedly from UK Mobile, but it was an Indian woman on the other end asking to confirm what mobile phone I had. I quickly ended the call and blocked the number. Quite frankly, I have my doubts about the legitimacy of this call—something tells me it was redirected from overseas rather than genuinely coming from Scotland.

I received a call today (17th May), but as soon as I picked up, they just disconnected. I suspect they’re hoping I’d ring them back, which would undoubtedly result in steep charges. It's obviously a scam, so do yourself a favour and steer clear of returning their call.

Dodgy caller! They ring up and then just cut off, likely trying to trick you into ringing them back. While this number doesn’t seem to be connected to any premium service, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a scam or a spoofed line. Best to steer clear!

It seems that this could be O2, and apparently they're offering a 40% discount on bills as a token of gratitude for enduring the pandemic! They claim they just need to verify your bank information and will send you a secure text, but curiously, they can't do this via the email they have on file or through the O2 app. But don't worry, they assure you it's absolutely not a scam! That’s how they kick off their message!

I received a rather alarming phone call recently, asserting that I was being pursued for a tax evasion issue and that an arrest warrant was supposedly in place. The individuals on the other end had Indian accents, purporting to be affiliated with a “company” based in Birmingham, though I found it difficult to discern their exact dialect.
This, without doubt, reeks of criminal activity, and I firmly believe that authorities ought to intervene and take appropriate actions against these deceitful scammers.

I recently received a typical scam phone call where the caller, masquerading as O2, attempted to lure me in with promises of discounted deals. Their tactic was to fish for a verification code, aiming to gain access to my online O2 account via the password recovery method.
It’s a shame, but I must point out that the caller’s accent was of Asian origin – and while it's regrettable, it seems that a small fraction of individuals from regions like Delhi are behind many of these dodgy calls. This unfortunate reality unfortunately breeds distrust toward those accents during unsolicited calls, which is quite unjust to the many decent folks who share that accent (and make up the vast majority).
If you encounter a similar situation, I strongly urge you to report it to Ofcom by sending "CALL [the number in question]" to 7726. For instance, you would text CALL 01320444019.
