to all the people here, its really easy - if you dont know the number dont pick up. if its important they will leave a message, that's why voicemail exists. if more folks just ignored unknown numbers instead of answering then complaining here later, these calls would probably stop. just use a bit of sense. spread the word please!

I’ve been plagued by a mysterious number that calls me at the most odd hours-whether it’s the crack of dawn or the dead of night. It's quite infuriating! On top of that, they’ve left a few messages, but still no clue as to their identity. Is there anyone out there who might have an inkling about who this could be?

A couple of days back, I stupidly picked up a call from an unknown number. There was an automated message saying that if I didn’t reply, my national insurance number would be taken away. I quickly ended the call. I tried to report it through the government site but kept running into issues. Since then, I’ve received multiple calls from different unfamiliar numbers. The most recent one seems to be from Angus, Scotland. I just ignored it.

Some bloke rings me up claiming he got my info from either my insurance provider or Facebook, then starts pushing some financial scheme that apparently will earn me loads of cash. When I ask where he actually got my number, he can't say for sure, just mumbles something about having a huge list of contacts. He gets pretty pushy if you start asking too many questions. He says he’s calling from Hong Kong, but honestly, it sounds more like he’s somewhere in India.
