Just a couple of posts below there’s advice on what you need to do if you want to put a stop to these foreign scammers ripping off the vulnerable and pestering the rest of us. It takes a bit of effort, but I’ve been doing it for a while now - reporting scam calls and texts straight to the police database (I’ve saved the site in my bookmarks). Sadly, it’ll need thousands of people making these reports before there’s any real change. Loads of folks report scam calls here daily, but it won’t make a difference overnight. If no one tries, these scams will just keep on going.

SCAM ALERT! Make sure you report every scam call or text straight to the police fraud system. Just search for ‘action fraud’ and visit the ‘police.uk’ website. Head to the ‘report phishing attempt’ section and carefully read all the info there. Afterwards, fill in the details about the scam, including any links or website addresses you have. You don’t need to sign up or give personal details unless you’ve lost money to the scam. Reporting all these dodgy calls and messages is the best way to help the police keep track of these fraudsters trying to rip us off.

Some bloke rang saying he was from Carphone Warehouse trying to sell me an iPhone 13, I told him it’s a scam and he just hung up on me.

I kept getting calls from numbers that were really close to each other, like 3 back to back. Every time I picked up one and hung up, another one would ring straight after.

Called on April 5th in the evening but my phone showed “possible scam” so i just ignored it and blocked straight away.

The caller had a thick Indian accent, I couldn’t catch a single word. When I asked them to say it again, they just ended the call.

I tried ringing back after I missed their first call. What a peculiar experience! I was met with some rather odd hold music despite being assured that my call was of utmost importance. The original message hinted I should drop an email to Spark Solutions via a Gmail account to have my details taken off their mailing list. It all feels rather dodgy, if you ask me. I've gone ahead and blocked the number.

Claimed they were ringing from Burton-On-Trent (sure, as if), so I just gave it the cold shoulder and blocked the number. Earlier today, got another call from "Brentwood" on 01277 511021, pretty much the same deal. Saw that both numbers have reviews here about a Carphone Warehouse scam. Looks like they’re now faking UK area codes to trick people. Good to know so you can watch out!

I received a call today about some offer for a free iPhone 13 along with a cheaper contract compared to my current one. They were quite persistent, asking how much I'm currently shelling out for my monthly payments. I mentioned that I wasn't entirely certain since my mum handles the bills.
