some guy with an accent called saying he was from 02 but i had to ask 3 times before i got it right! claimed he wanted to help cut my phone bill cos prices are going up!! i barely ever pay more than my usual monthly fee & i just switched payments a couple of months ago, he said he’d put me through to someone else who’d sort everything out for me!!! i just hung up straight away!!!

Definetly a scammer! When I asked for his info so I could report him to the cops, the bloke got really nasty and said I was hurting his feelings! Claimed he was from Openreach and called me stupid for accusing him of scamming. Told me to arrange a 3-way call with the police. I kept him on the line for about 6 minutes while he kept being rude before he finally gave up. Quite the experience!

The number was unfamiliar to me but since it was coming through on my work phone, I picked up just in case it was something urgent. I greeted them with a ‘hello’ but all was silent. I tried again, and I could faintly hear someone chuckling nearby. A woman said hello but then went quiet. I said hello once more and when she asked me to say it again, I just ended the call. Just like others have said, I don’t know anyone who’d have a reason to call me from that sort of number.
