Someone called saying they were from "bank security," talking about some charges on my card from earlier today. There were a couple of transactions, one for quite a lot of money. It was pretty scary for a moment. They told me to get in touch with them if I didn’t make those purchases. BUT IT’S DEFINITELY A SCAM, clearly trying to trick you into giving up your bank info. DON’T FALL FOR IT, even if the number looks local.

Got a call from someone saying they worked for Carphone Warehouse. They said they’d sort out my contract and switch me to a new 24-month deal with O2 for a shiny Samsung S22 at £40 a month. The caller had a really thick Indian accent and just hung up on me before I could say anything.

I told him to call back after 2pm so I could get my partner, but he just kept calling from loads of different numbers from all over the place - Manchester, Burnley, London, Aldershot. No way one person could be in all those places at once. When I finally picked up I said I know you’re a scammer, and he just hung up on me.

Don't pick up this number, it's a scam trying to trick you into giving out your bank details. The tricky bit is it seems real 'cos it uses a familiar UK area code. But actually, scammers can get hold of these area codes from BT to make it seem legit.

Spoke with a man who had a thick Indian accent, said his name was Dave from Carphone Warehouse. He kept pushing me to listen. I told him to stop cold calling as it’s illegal. He got quite rude and abusive. Ended up cutting the call and blocking the number. Seriously, something has to be done to stop these con artists and scammers. Watch out!
