Got a call from 01282214000 saying there was a transfer of 700 then 2,3000 from my bank account and to press 1 if I wanted to talk about it. I looked at my bank balance, nothing strange so far, but now I’m going to have a butcher at my credit card just in case. Bit confusing this one!

I keep getting calls about Carphone Warehouse and it's so annoying. No matter how many numbers I block, they just ring me again from different areas all over the UK. It's really messing with me. A few times, all I've heard is really creepy heavy breathing on the line - it’s honestly so weird and gross.

Got a call from someone saying they were with Carphone Warehouse, trying to sell me a £10 a month deal. I told them I already pay £5, and he seemed annoyed and just ended the call.

I received a rather dodgy automated ring today, claiming that I had some grave problem with my national insurance and prompted me to hit 1 for assistance. I promptly hung up and added the number, 01282336027, to my block list. Clearly, it’s a scam!

Somebody rang me saying they were from Currys PCWorld, but honestly, having watched loads of scammer videos on YouTube, I clocked it immediately. The woman on the phone called herself Ruth, but her thick Indian accent made it hard to catch much. As soon as I told her my name was Ranjeev Gupta, and threw on a solid Scottish accent, she probably realised she wasn’t gonna get anything from me and just ended the call!

Received a call from someone purporting to be from Carphone Warehouse. They told me I could have my current contract settled and switch to a new £40 deal with O2 for a shiny Samsung S22 over two years. Before I could respond, they abruptly ended the call. The individual had a thick Indian accent.

This sounds like one of those dodgy call centres from Asia, mostly trying to scam you by chatting about alarms, mobile deals, or home insulation - typical cold call tricks. If it was legit, they’d leave a voicemail, surely? NEVER pick up calls unless you’re 100% certain who’s on the other end. Proper businesses ALWAYS leave a message with their phone number or email. And whatever you do, don’t call these scammers back!

I've shared a couple of comments about how to put an end to these scam calls. It’s not exactly easy, but I’ve managed it myself. I keep reporting scam texts and calls to the police database (the link’s saved in my favourites), but honestly, it needs thousands of people doing the same before any real action happens. Every day loads of folks report scam calls here. My MP did reply, which was quite insightful, but again, one person raising concerns won’t change much on its own.
