Today, I received a call from 01273099305, which is just one digit off from my own number. Typical beginning with “Hello, this is Harry, am I chatting with Mr. -----------?” Then they stutter a bit when I ask who’s calling, claiming it’s something about my Sky insurance! I just cut the call right there. Definitely some dodgy scam or phishing attempt! Tried ringing back and got some automated message telling me to hang on. What a total waste of time, honestly!!!!!!

Got a call from someone named Richard claiming there was a problem with my washing machine warranty. I don't even have one, so I knew straight away it was a scam. Then, not too long after, I got another dodgy phone call from a nearby area code. Definitely just trying to scam. Stay clear of these!

After a couple of minutes of me trying to make him tell me, I gave him a few ideas on what he might do with his time instead and then hung up. Funny thing is, this exact number had called us two or three other times already this month.

On the 23rd of December 2019, I got a call where they asked for me by name and even tried to confirm my address. They mentioned something about my Sky kit, but I don’t even have any Sky equipment, so it was obviously dodgy. There was loads of noise in the background, so it seemed like a call centre trying to scam. Plus, I’m on the telephone preference service list, so they shouldn’t have called at all. Really wouldn’t trust these people!

Someone rang me saying they were with Sky security and needed to talk about my Sky settings. They even called me by my name, which freaked me out since I didn’t think my number was out there anywhere. When I asked where they got my name from, they said it was from my Sky TV account - but the thing is, I’ve never had Sky TV at all, lol. I’d suggest keeping these callers on the line for as long as you can without agreeing to anything - that way you might stop someone more vulnerable from getting scammed into buying rubbish they don’t need!
