Premier Protect Ltd Warranty Team phoned me saying my washing machine warranty had run out, but they offered a discount and gave a neat sales pitch by quoting prices for one and two years, asking which I wanted. The problem is, as I explained, they can't renew a warranty I never had in the first place! I told them to stop calling me and now plan to report them to the TPS. They'll get a letter from the TPS and the ICO too - this actually matters because action only happens when enough people complain about TPS-listed calls, so pointless just to moan if you don't report it.

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent, he already knew my name and where I lived. Started with the usual “how are you today” line, which felt like the start of a scam. He said my Sky insurance needed renewing. Told him I don’t even have Sky and that it sounded like a scam. He tried to argue and asked what I thought a scam was. I told him this call was exactly that. Received a rather peculiar phone call today, claiming that my washing machine insurance had lapsed. I inquired about the company and he mentioned something about “home service.” The catch? I don’t even have a policy for my washing machine! When I pressed him for details and asked which model he thought I owned, he confidently stated it was a Bosch. Got a polite sounding young bloke on the phone, who somehow knew both my name and address, saying my washing machine warranty needed renewing. Total nonsense as it’s really old and I’ve never signed up for any extra cover. Ended the call straight away and blocked the number.

I dont pick up my home phone anymore if its a number I dont recognise, I just let the message say that and then look them up here. Today alone I dodged a couple of scam calls and my stress levels stayed in check. In my message, I tell them to leave a name and promise to call back if I know who they are. Seems like the phone companies should really step up and do something about these scams, maybe put some better tech in place to stop them ringing in the first place.

I don't pick up my landline for calls from unknown numbers anymore, I just leave a message saying that. Then I look them up here and managed to dodge a couple of scammers today, so that's one less stress for me. I always ask anyone calling to leave their name so I can ring back if it's someone I know. I’ve made it a rule not to pick up if they don’t bother to leave a voicemail. If it was truly urgent, they’d surely take a moment to drop a message on my landline, wouldn't they?

My brother answered the home phone, and since he’s a bit hard of hearing, he didn’t catch much, but it sounded like they were talking about some kind of insurance or warranty for household appliances. Somebody rang saying they were with Nexgen, offering a solar upgrade, but it was a total scam. They just ignored the TPS rules completely. Avoid these lot!

Got a call on the 31st of October around 2.51pm. The bloke said he needed my address to send me insurance papers for a fridge freezer. I told him I didn't own one and he just ended the call straight away.

Got a call from 01273099300 about washing machine insurance, total scam! The person on the phone was really rude, kept going on and wouldn’t take no for an answer. Honestly, what’s the use of TPS if this lot keep ringing like this? Proper annoying.
