I got a call from 01273 091181 today, and after checking it out, turns out the number’s connected to an HMRC scam. Then I noticed another call from 02038 579167, which seems to be involved with the same HMRC scam too. Looks like they’re running some sort of organised scam effort.

Got a call from 01273099301 saying they were offering insurance for my SKY gear. They reckoned my warranty was about to expire and pushed me to buy some kind of coverage. Said they had all my details from SKY’s system. I'm new to Sky, only signed up a week or two ago, so I’m wondering where they got that info or if some dodgy subcontractor is leaking data. When I asked them to email me the details or send a letter, they just hung up on me. If anyone else has had any bother with these muppets, give me a shout and I’ll sort it proper.

Then they oddly switched to asking about the warranty on my washing machine. I told them quite firmly to buzz off and stop bothering me, and they immediately hung up. Curious, I dialled the number back and ended up at some call centre.
