I mostly receive these calls on my unlisted home phone number. Every time there’s a big silence and then the call just ends. But this time, after another long silence, I could hear background noise like a call centre. A woman, who sounded Asian, said she was from BT OPENREACH about my internet. I told her straight away that my internet company isn’t BT, it’s a different well-known provider, and then the call abruptly cut off. On a previous call, someone pretending to be from British Gas tried the same trick. They’re clearly just waiting for someone to fall for it. Quite dodgy!
