Caller claimed to be from Currys, offering new iPhones on some kind of low monthly plan. The call was super quick. Could hear loads of noise in the back, like a hectic office or somethin. They said something like, “We’re with Currys, selling iPhone for blah blah monthly, interested?” The person was polite but spoke really fast and had a strong accent. Lasted about 10 seconds. Friendly enough, but felt dodgy in quite a few ways.

Some bloke rang me with an accent (definitely not Welsh) saying he was from o2 and wanted to give me 20% off my bills. I told him if he was really from o2 he’d know I’m still in a contract. He said they can still give me a discount anyway. I mentioned that last time I got a call like that, o2 told me it was a scam, and then he just hung up. I phoned o2 myself and was warned it’s a total scam, and these scammers actually end up disconnecting your phone!

Received a call from a dodgy-sounding bloke with an accent using a number from Bangor. The connection was terrible, and he flagged himself as being from Currys/PCWorld, trying to peddle some deals on iPhones and the like. When I declined, he just cut off straight away. Got a call from someone saying they were with Phones Ltd offering an iPhone 13. I asked which network, and he said Vodaphone, Virgin or '3G' - which isn’t a network name at all. The caller had a really strong Indian accent, sounded like a call centre, and said he was based in Manchester.
