A woman who linked my name to my landline said she was with a solar panel installation firm that had closed down. I asked which company exactly as I had spoken to my installer a few months ago. She wouldn’t say as they supposedly represented around 100 companies! I told her if she couldn’t give clear info, it sounded like a scam. She denied it, and I said I was signed up to TPS. She claimed she’d update their records accordingly - I pointed out if they were legit, they’d already have this info. Wouldn’t trust these lot one bit!

A woman called me, talking about solar panel firms that have collapsed and abandoned their clients. I asked if the company that fitted my panels had gone under (doubtful, I spoke to them recently). She wasn’t sure, since some other companies I’d asked for quotes from were on her list, so she couldn’t confirm about mine. I told her to remove my mobile from their list. Don’t want my time wasted with calls like this.

Some lady rang me sayin she was from a place called ECO. She knew my name and where I live. She was chattering about solar panels put in by companies that are no longer around, offering a free safety check. She said there was a fire danger and that some inverters were faulty. When I tried to ask her more, she got rude and just hung up on me.

I reckon a lot of people would ring them back, which just wastes their money and puts you right in their sales trap so they can pitch their ‘amazing’ stuff. I’m waiting for them to call again, but definitely not paying for the pleasure.

I picked up but it was just silence on the other end since they ring around 8 people at once but only chat to whoever picks up first. Like how we all get endless calls trying to sell double glazing, home repairs, or lawyers pushing free will writing so they can be your executor once you’re gone, it’s all about greed, nothing else. I’m planning to confuse these lot by quizzing them on the fine print of their so-called services. Stay tuned.

Woman claiming to be from ECO or something similar. She knew my name. Like others mentioned, she started on about solar panels put in by companies that aren’t around anymore. When I told her the line was crackling badly and I couldn’t hear well, she just hung up on me. Bit odd. Could be an honest but lazy caller, or maybe a scammer who can't be bothered.

If you’re feeling brave, try booking a visit from one of their reps. When they show up, let them know you’ve already told them loads of times to take you off the call list, so you made an appointment just to say it face to face. Then tell them firm, “No, you can't come in, I’m not interested in buying anything, just make sure my number’s off the list or you’ll be back.” Doing this wastes their time and ends up costing them, so if more folks do it, maybe the calls will finally stop.

Got a call from someone named Demi with ECO, talking about "Solar panel businesses collapsing due to scams". She actually knew my name. When I told her I don't have solar panels, she said sorry and admitted she wasn't sure how I got on their list and promised to take me off it. I've just blocked this number now.

got a call from demi at eco ltd, said they were offering a free safety check on solar panel inverters for folks whose solar companies had shut down. they made it sound quite urgent, saying there was a fire hazard and that some michael levy, who supposedly was very experienced, would come round to inspect. but they kept saying someone from the house had to be there which seemed a bit off. i got a bad feeling and thought it was a scam, so i called back on 1471 but no luck.

27/06/2018 got a cold call from someone claiming to be from Eco Ltd. said they were contacting everyone whose solar panel company had gone under - mentioned fire and safety issues. Said they want to send an inspector over this Sunday to check things out. When I asked for their address, she just ended the call. Dialled 1471 and found their number myself.

Got a call saying they were helping folks whose solar panel firm had folded, then launched into a long spiel about how risky the panels might be, saying they could catch fire and all that. Offered me a 'free inspection' but when I asked if they were gonna check the panels and when scaffolding would be set up, they got quite defensive. Said it was just a visual check but they'd look at the inverter since they had someone nearby. I wasn’t having it and told them exactly what I thought. Definitely a con trying to push pricey warranties.
