Got a call supposedly from HMRC saying someone tried to make a fake claim using my name, and they told me to press 1. Felt a bit dodgy to me.

This is a total scam where they claim you or someone close to you has been in a car accident. They often use fake official-sounding names like ‘accident help centre’ or ‘road safety investigation team’ to sound legit. They ring loads of random numbers hoping to catch someone who’s recently had a crash. I’ve had their calls 8 times today already, it’s really stressing me out. I told them straight away to stop calling but they just won’t quit. Proper harassment and definitely a scam!
