*Scam call* Got a phone call from someone claiming to be Alex at Carphone Warehouse, offering me an iPhone 13 max Pro with unlimited everything for £35 a month. When I told him I wasn't interested, he just ended the call right away. The guy was super polite and cheerful, but there was a lot of noise in the background, like he wasn’t in a quiet place.

SCAMMERS ALERT!!! If anyone really wants to help put an end to these dodgy phone calls (they often trick folks and some unlucky person ends up getting ripped off) check out a couple of posts from 19/03 on this thread. It takes a bit of work, but is worth it. I got a reply from my MP which was quite eye-opening, but it’ll only make a difference if MPs all over the country get loads of emails asking what they’re doing to stop these calls. Also, make sure to report to that police ‘action fraud’ site so the cyber crime teams have a clear picture of what's happening.

I've been getting loads of strange calls to my landline from all sorts of places. One was from a car phone warehouse, another from some life insurance company, and even an 02 number which I don't even have! Received a call earlier today from a chap asserting he was associated with a phone car warehouse. The line was abysmal, and his accent was markedly thick. Someone rang pretending to be from Carphone Warehouse, pushing an iPhone 12 with unlimited calls plus 5000 international minutes for £35. When I said that sounded a bit pricey, they quickly dropped the offer to an iPhone 11 at £25, then swiftly knocked it down to £20 a minute after. I told them I already have a work phone and wasn’t interested. The woman, who had a South Asian accent, was really polite, said thanks for my time, and then ended the call.
