Got a call in the late morning on my O2 backup phone, a number I pretty much keep to myself and never share. I decided to ignore the call, thinking it was either a mistake or some kind of scam. With my Caller ID turned off, I rang the number back, only to get a voicemail in a thick accent saying the number wasn’t active anymore, then the call dropped. That pretty much convinced me it was a scam attempt to start with.

I got a call this afternoon from someone claiming to be with O2, offering a 30% reduction on my bill. His thick Asian accent made it hard to catch everything he said. When he began asking for my personal info, I just said no thanks and ended the call.
